Little Rock Sermon Questions History of Grace – April 30, 2017 Genesis 27:1-36 Adam Sauer
1. Adam’s message began with the idea that we are all acceptance magnets? In what ways can you personally identify with the universal longing for acceptance? Read the passage together.
2. In what ways do we sometimes act like Jacob in “pretending” in order to gain the acceptance of others?
3. In his message Adam taught, “We will never feel completely accepted until we rest in the love and acceptance of God.” How have you experienced God’s acceptance and love?
4. Despite Jacob’s deception and trickery, God accepted him and through his descendants brought blessing to all the nations through Jesus Christ. While God accepts us by His grace, he never affirms our sin. Is there an area in your life where you are not trusting in His grace and promises?
You might conclude your discussion with a time of worship and thanksgiving to God for His grace.
