DREAM 2018 Restoration’s mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Since Restoration started more than three years ago, we have seen radical transformation in the lives of people in our community. Many of our leaders have been asking, what’s next for Restoration? At our three year birthday celebration, Tim Ward asked “what are your dreams for Restoration?” We believe that now is the time to take bold steps to reach new people in our community. After reading lots of your dreams and having conversations about the future, there are a few initiatives we have come up with on which we want to hear from you. To bring these initiatives to life, we are launching a 2018 Dream Capital Campaign.

COMMUNITY INVESTMENTS $130,000 FOREST EDGE CLASSROOM LIBRARIES ($30,000): In conversations with the principal of Forest Edge we have learned that there is a large need for classroom libraries. Reading is one of those abilities that transforms a child’s life. The principal has requested that in addition to our mentoring, we provide as many sets of classroom libraries as possible. RESTON AFTER SCHOOL PROJECT ($20,000): In conjunction with Fairfax County Schools, Cornerstones has launched a project called RestOn. ON (Opportunity Neighborhood) has a goal of transforming child and family poverty in Reston. We have been asked to consider launching an after school program for the kids of Cedar Ridge Community in kindergarten and first grade. The program would provide volunteer opportunities and connections as well. EVANGELISM AND OUTREACH ($30,000): We believe that we are called to reach out deeply into our community. While we are connected in many areas in North Reston, we have been asked “what about South Reston” and more specifically, South Lakes High School. Dream Campaign funds will help us connect in the South Reston community as well as with South Lakes High School. LOUDOUN COUNTY CAMPUS ($30,000): Restoration was launched through the generous gifts of the people of our Herndon campus – Floris United Methodist Church. Floris has an opportunity to partner with the Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church to plant a third Floris campus in Loudoun County, a fastgrowing community where many Floris members currently live. The new campus which will be located along the Rt. 50 corridor would be called Restoration Loudoun. COMMUNICATIONS/MARKETING CAMPAIGN ($20,000): We want everyone in the community to know about Restoration. After three years we think it is time to do a major marketing campaign to include advertisements in magazines, on the metro, direct marketing, etc. We want more people to know about this community.

RESTORATION CAPITAL INVESTMENTS $70,000 When we started Restoration we purchased equipment and were given equipment. We tried to be as diligent as we could in getting the right pieces in places to launch. Since then we have grown. Pieces of equipment have broken and outlived their lifespan. Here are a few things that we need to invest in to continue to reach people in the Reston community: A NEW TRUCK ($30,000): Each week everything that we use at Restoration is brought to Forest Edge Elementary. We had a very generous donation of a vehicle when we started and did not invest any capital into the truck. At this point our truck is at the end of its life. We can no longer continue to invest funds into repairing it. We need to purchase a new solution. PROJECTION SYSTEM ($12,000): You may have noticed videos are very difficult to see on our projector. In addition to this the reliability of our projector is getting less and less. We are using a donated projector that’s more than 12 years old. A new projector would help us to continue to provide worship that is more relevant and diverse. ENVIRONMENTAL UPGRADES ($8,000): We are so grateful to worship at Forest Edge Elementary each week. We have done many things to try and beautify the space where we worship. It is time for new signage and more creative designs for the space. These are the first things our guests experience when they come to worship, KidsLife and KidsCare. We want to make our KidsCare area more kid friendly and our worship area and welcome areas more beautiful as you walk in. LIVE STREAM SYSTEM ($25,000): Many of you have shared that having the entire worship video produced or live streamed would be really helpful. For some of you this is because you travel. More often than not we hear how you would like to share Restoration in a safe way with your friends in the community. A video camera and streaming tools would allow us to share Restoration with the community in an easier way.

Worship: 10 a.m. Sundays, at Forest Edge Elementary School, 1501 Becontree Ln, Reston, VA 20190 RestorationReston.org
