Introit All Glory Be to God on High
Text: N Decius 1525 Music: N. Decius 1529
Chancel Choir
All glory be to God on high, to thee all adora:on! In grace and trust thou drawest nigh to offer us salva:on. Thou showest thy good will to men, and peace shall reign on earth again; we praise thy name forever.
O Jesus Christ, our God and Lord, Son of thy heavenly father, O thou, who hast our peace restored, the straying sheep dost gather. Thou lamb of God, to thee on high out of the depths we sinners cry: have mercy on us, Jesus.
O Holy Spirit, thou precious giZ, thou comforter, unfailing, o’er Satan’s snares our soul upliZ and let thy power, availing, avert our woes and calm our dread; for us the Savior’s blood was shed, we trust in thee to save us.
We praise, we worship thee, we trust, and give thee thanks forever, O Father, for thy rule is just and wise and changes never. Thy boundless power o’er all things reigns, done is whatever thy will ordains; blest we that thou art ruler.

God calls us to confess our sin Liturgist:
from Hebrews 10:19, 21-22; 4:16
Therefore, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to the throne of grace with a true heart in full assurance of faith, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in :me of need.

We confess our sin Liturgist: All:
Our gracious Father, it is easy for us to believe lies about you and about ourselves. We oZen think too li`le of your love and mercy and too highly of ourselves. We fear that you love us only if we are good enough. We are prone to believe that you accept us only if our morality merits your favor and only if our performance earns your praise. We are prone to credit ourselves when we do what is right. When we do wrong, we deal with our guilt and shame by offering you our own flawed record to earn a reward rather than humbly offering to you our need and receiving and resDng in the giE of your love, the righteousness of Christ our Savior for us. Lord, have mercy on us.
(silent prayers of confession)
Liturgist:

Gracious Father, forgive us for believing lies about your love and our goodness. Lord, help us to cast all our guilt and shame upon you con:nually and to live each day with confident knowledge that our sins are freely and fully forgiven in Come, ye sinners, poor and wretched Christ, that we are united to you in Christ only as a giZ of your strong Fatherly love, and that your steadfast love for us as your beloved children endures forever.

God declares our forgiveness Liturgist:
Since we have been jus:fied by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who jus:fies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised— who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.
All:
For all who have turned from sin in sorrow and look to God for mercy, this is God’s giZ. In Jesus Christ, God loves you, God forgives you, God accepts you, and God rejoices over you as beloved daughters and sons. Hallelujah, Amen!

Lord, Thou Hast Been Our Refuge Chancel Choir Nancy Mayo, keyboardist Al Stith, trumpet
Text: Psalm 90 Music: R. Vaughan Williams
Lord, thou hast been our refuge from one genera:on to another, Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever the earth and the world were made, thou art God from everlas:ng and world without end. O God our help in ages past, our help for years to come
Thou turnest man to destruc:on; again thou sayest, Come again, ye children of men—for a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday, seeing that is past as a watch in the night. Our shelter from the stormy blast and our eternal home
As soon as thou sca`ers them, they are even as a sleep and fade away suddenly like grass. In the morning it is green and growth up, but in the evening it is cut down, dried up and withered. For we consume away in thy displeasure and are afraid at thy wrathful indigna:on.
For when thou art angry all our days are gone; we bring our years to an end as a tale that is told. The years of our age are three score years and ten, and though men be so strong that they come to four-score years, yet is their strength but labor and sorrow. So passeth it away and we are gone. Turn thee again, O Lord, at the last. Be gracious unto thy servants. O sa:sfy us with thy mercy and that soon. So shall we rejoice and be glad all the days of our life.
And the glorious majesty of the Lord be upon us, Prosper thou the work of our hands. Prosper thou our handiwork.
We greet one another with the peace of Christ
