2015 Vendor Application The Charlevoix Farmer’s Market will be held every Thursday from May 7 to October 1 in East Park, downtown Charlevoix and (*pending further discussion) October 15th to December 17th in the Charlevoix Public Library’s Community Room. Official market hours are from 9am to 1pm every week. Date Exceptions: There will be no market on November 26th, and December 24th. The July 23rd market will be at Bridge Park due to the Venetian Festival. There will be a special holiday market* on Tuesday, November 24th and Tuesday, December 22nd. Booth fees: The price for a booth is $275 for the year or $25/day (summer) or $10/day (winter). Fees are based on a 10’ x 10’ space. 2015 Market Rules & Regulations 

The Charlevoix Farmer’s Market vendors product must be grown or produced in Charlevoix, Antrim, Ostego, Cheboygan or Emmet County.



All vendors will complete a vendor application before attending the market. Copies of all appropriate licenses/permits must be attached to the application and on file with the Market Master.



Priority will be given to vendors who pay a seasonal rate and make a weekly commitment to attend the market for the entire season, as well as to those that have seniority in their faithful commitment to working the Charlevoix Farmers Market.



The market will be open from 9am to 1pm, however vendors may operate their booth as early as 8am and stay as late as 2pm if they wish.



Anyone wishing to leave the market earlier than 1pm must get permission from the Market Master. If you leave early without permission, you could lose your spot with no refund.



You must be at the market by 8:15am the day of the Market and set up/ready to sell by 8:40am. If you are not present, or have not called by 8:15am, your space will be given to another vendor.



Vendors shall sell only agricultural, horticultural, or food items they themselves have grown, produced or processed. No handcrafted items are allowed.



Vendors wishing to operate under the Cottage Food Industry Law must abide by all rules governing that law as well as sign a document indicating they understand these rules. Their products will be inspected by the Market Master to make sure they are in compliance. The Market Master may at any point in time ask them to remove a product if it is not in compliance.



To maintain a healthy Farmer’s Market, price cutting of top quality products is discouraged. Poor quality or over ripe produce must be labeled as such and may be sold at a discounted price.



Producers must remove all unsold products and their own refuse at the end of the market. The park is to be left as you found it. There will be one mandatory meeting, April 16, 2015, 10am, upstairs at City Hall. You must attend this meeting or call the Market Master to make other arrangements before you will be eligible to participate.

 

All vendors must participate in the Bridge Card/ Credit Card token system. Anyone who is eligible must participate in Senior Project Fresh and WIC. All vendors must follow all rules governing this program as explained at the mandatory meeting.



NO SMOKING is allowed during market hours. Compliance is mandatory to maintain a healthy environment.



Cars, trucks, vans, etc… must be moved immediately after unloading. Vehicles must be moved by 8:55am—no exceptions.



These rules apply to all vendors and all employees/representatives of the vendors.



The Market Master will oversee any violations and consequences to any of market rules.



The City of Charlevoix, at its discretion, reserves the right to refuse any entry and to make all decisions regarding the Charlevoix Farmer’s Market.

2015 Vendor EBT Agreement The Charlevoix Farmers Market accepts food assistance benefits (EBT/food stamps) in the form of the Michigan Bridge Card. Participation by eligible vendors is mandatory.

Agreement: 

I agree to follow all of the rules as explained on the attached process/rule sheet.



I agree to follow all policies of the Charlevoix Farmers’ Market, as well as those of the US Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service (USDA FNS), who administers the Bridge Card program.



I understand that if market staff observe or receive evidence of my failure to abide by this agreement, the market will immediately suspend or terminate my market eligibility.



I understand that I will not be reimbursed for scrip collected incorrectly.



I understand that it is my responsibility to inform my family and employees of these rules before they sell at the market on behalf of my farm or business.

2015 Waiver & Release _______________________, as indemnitor, agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Charlevoix Farmer’s Market, Market Representatives, and the City of Charlevoix from and against any and all claims, losses, liability, costs or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of bodily injury of any person or persons, including death, or property damage, relating to the use of the City of Charlevoix property for the purpose of selling items at the Charlevoix Farmer’s Market during the seasonal operational schedule.

Additionally, indemnitor, including indemnitor’s agents or employees admits receipt of a copy of the Charlevoix Farmer’s Market Rules, and agrees to abide by the terms thereof. By signing this document thus binds the indemnitor to these rules.
