2017 VBS South Hills Campus Volunteer Opportunities Welcome! Below you will find all the VBS Volunteer Opportunities available to you. Please return to The Bible Chapel website to register for only ONE Volunteer Opportunity online.

NURSERY: This area is open to children of VBS volunteers only. Ages 0-2 years old. VBS Nursery activities for the toddlers will include: large group music time, classroom activities, snack and outside playtime. Volunteers are needed for the following positions: Teen Positions

Adult Positions

(Entering Grades 7 – 12)

Adult Childcare Helper: Adults will provide care and supervision to the children during all VBS Nursery activities. Station Leader - Games/Craft: This position requires an Adult volunteer to develop and oversee daily activities for either Game or Craft activities.

Teen Childcare Helper: This position assists the Adult Childcare Helpers care for the children during all VBS Nursery activities.

Bible Chapel Members Adult Positions Childcare Leader: This position will oversee the Adult & Teen Childcare Helpers. These leaders will work directly with the Nursery Coordinators to supervise the children during VBS week. Bible Story Leader: This volunteer will present to the children the daily Bible Story through creative teaching.

2017 VBS South Hills Campus Volunteer Opportunities PRESCHOOL This area is only open to children of VBS volunteers. Ages 3-5 years old. VBS Preschool stations include: large group music time, Bible story time, cinema time, craft, snack and outside playtime. Volunteers are needed for the following positions: Teen Positions (Entering Grades 7 - 12) Teen Assistant Crew Leader: This volunteer helps the crew leaders and preschool crew members through the entire VBS experience. Games Assistant : Assist the Games Leader in facilitating games activities. (Entering Grades 9-12 ) Bible Quest Assistant: This volunteer will assist the Bible Quest Leader in presenting to children the daily Bible Story through creative teaching. Craft Station Assistant: This volunteer will assist the Craft Station Leader by helping the children with daily craft activities. KidVid Cinema Station Assistant: This volunteer will assist the KidVid Cinema Leader. Teen Floater: This teen volunteer has to be willing to go wherever is needed in the Preschool area. This position may change from day-to-day.

Adult Positions Assistant Crew Leader: This position will assist the Crew Leaders in leading Preschool kid crews through all Preschool stations. Bible Discovery Assistant: This volunteer helps the Bible Discovery Leader bring the Bible story to like by assisting them throughout the day. They will get to interact with every preschooler as they visit this station. Craft Station Leader: This position will help develop and work alongside the children during all daily craft activities Craft Station Assistant: This volunteer will assist the Craft Station Leader by helping the children with daily craft activities. Games Leader: This volunteer will develop, set up and facilitate the games with each child. Adult Floater: This adult volunteer has to be willing to go wherever is needed in the Preschool area. This position may change from day-to-day.

Bible Chapel Members Adult Positions Crew Leader: This volunteer will lead a preschool crew through the entire VBS experience. They will witness the magic of VBS through their young crew member’s eyes. They will guide, pray, lead, teach and keep the children safe. Bible Discovery Leader: This volunteer will present to children the daily Bible story through creative teaching. They will interact with every preschooler as they visit this station. KidVid Cinema Station Leader: This volunteer will show the daily VBS Cinema Video and teach daily lessons related to this video. (Must be comfortable working a projector.) They will get to interact with every preschooler as they visit this station.

2017 VBS South Hills Campus Volunteer Opportunities ELEMENTARY K – 4th Grades All children entering grades K – fourth can participate in this area of VBS. VBS Elementary stations include: Opening and Closing Program, Imagination Station, Snacks, Bible Adventures, Games, and KidVid Cinema. Volunteers are needed for the following positions: Teen Positions (Entering Grade 7- 12) Elementary Crew K-Fourth Grade – Crew Assistant: This volunteer has the opportunity to participate in the entire VBS experience as they assist their Elementary Crew Leader with the children in their assigned crews. Imagination Station (Experiments K- Fourth Grade) – Teen Helper: (Imagination Station) This volunteer will help children in the Elementary crews complete daily activities. Snacks K-Fourth Grade - Teen Helper: (Snack Station) This volunteer will help prepare daily snacks and distribute them to the Elementary Crews.

(Entering Grade 10 - 12) Bible Quest Props K-Fourth Grade – Teen Helper: ( Bible Discovery Station) This volunteer will assist the Props Adult Helper collect and set up props needed for the daily Deep Bible Quest sessions. Games K-Fourth Grade: - Teen Helper: (Games Station) This volunteer will help crews complete daily game activities.

Adult Positions Elementary Crew K-Fourth Grade – Crew Assistant: This volunteer has the opportunity to participate in the entire VBS experience as they assist their Elementary Crew Leader with the children in their assigned crews. Bible Discovery Props K-Fourth Grade– Adult Helper: (Bible Discovery Station) This Adult volunteer will be responsible for collecting and setting up all props needed for the daily Deep Bible Quest sessions. Games K-Fourth Grade: - Adult Helper: (Games Station) This volunteer will help crews complete daily game activities. These volunteers will also be responsible to monitor all volunteer children in the morning before VBS. Imagination Station ( K-Fourth Grade) - Adult Helper: (Imagination Station) This volunteer will help the children in the Elementary crews complete daily activities. Snacks K-Fourth Grade- Adult Helper: (Snack Station) This volunteer will help prepare and distribute daily snacks to the Elementary Crews.

Bible Chapel Member Adult Positions Elementary Crew K-Fourth Grade- Crew Leader: This volunteer will lead a crew of up to 10 children through the entire VBS experience. These volunteers will have the privilege and responsibility of praying, teaching and building relationships with the kids in their crew as they interact while guiding the children to each station. Bible Discovery K-Fourth Grade- Teacher: (Deep Bible Quest Station) This volunteer will present the daily Bible story through creative drama sessions for the children.

2017 VBS South Hills Campus Volunteer Opportunities BREAKOUT - 5th and 6th Grade All children entering fifth and sixth grade can participate in this area of VBS. Breakout VBS provides the older kids a VBS experience that is fun, engaging and mature. Crews are separated by gender. Breakout Stations include: Opening and Closing Music program, Bible Lesson, Snack, Games, Imagination Station, and a Mission activity. Breakout kids also enjoy a day of activities at a local pool. Volunteers are needed for the following positions

(Entering Grades 11 - 12) Assistant Crew Leader Girls: This volunteer must be a female. This volunteer has the opportunity to participate in the entire VBS experience as they assist the Crew Leader with the girls in their assigned crews. Assistant Crew Leader Boys: This volunteer must be a male. This volunteer has the opportunity to participate in the entire VBS experience as they assist the Crew Leader with the boys in their assigned crews.

Games Leader: This volunteer will be the leader of this station. This volunteer will help develop, setup and manage the game activities for the week.

Snack Helper: This volunteer will work with the Elementary Snack team to collect, distribute and clean up the snack areas for all the Breakout crews. This volunteer has the opportunity to participate in the entire VBS experience as they assist the Crew Leader with the girls in their assigned crews. 2017 VBS South Hills Campus Volunteer Opportunities VBS SUPPORT TEAMS: The following teams are needed to support the overall success of VBS. Volunteers are needed for the following positions: Teen Positions

Adult Positions

(Entering Grade 7 - 12)

Pre-VBS Art & Stage Design - Art Helpers: Artistic people who would be available the weeks before VBS to create all VBS artwork utilized on stage and throughout the church. These volunteers do NOT have to attend any volunteer training. This position is NOT online, contact Deanna Kratt at [email protected]. Pre-VBS Art & Stage Design – Hall & Stage Set-Up Team: This team of volunteers would set up all VBS art on stage and in the halls. This team would NOT be required to attend any VBS volunteer training sessions and would be required to work the Sunday before VBS week. Floaters: This volunteer would be assigned daily to any VBS area needing assistance. Perfect for volunteers who are unable to serve the entire week. Volunteer Hospitality Adult Helper: This volunteer will be responsible to prepare and serve food to the volunteers. This position would also be responsible to help clean up the kitchen daily. Volunteer Hospitality Early Bird Adult Helper: This position is open to any adult that is willing to come between 7:00 – 9:00 a.m. daily to help prepare food for the volunteers. Photography: This volunteer would help take pictures throughout the week of VBS. This person would also help with any projects, such as postcards and slide presentations, by using the pictures taken during VBS. Special Needs: This volunteer would help support a child with special needs as a one-on-one buddy during the week of VBS. Registration Team Helpers: This volunteer will assist families in completing the registration process, help maintain daily attendance reports, and assist in special projects assigned throughout the week. Clean-Up Crew Helpers: This volunteer will partner with the Clean-up Crew Coordinator and clean-up a designated area of the church. Duties may include taking down decorations, storing supplies in designated areas--no heavy lifting required. These volunteers would serve on Friday between 12:15pm – 3:30pm. Parking Team Helpers: Theses volunteers would help direct all morning traffic in the parking lot. Medical Response Team: Medically experienced volunteers needed for daily coverage of medical/first aid needs. Physician, RNs, EMTs, Chiropractors, or other medical professionals can fill this position. Please do not sign up for this if you are also volunteering in another area. This position will not be “multi-tasked” as in years past. This position does not need to be filled by one person for the entire week. Daily volunteers would be appreciated.

Floaters: This volunteer would be assigned daily to any VBS area needing assistance. Perfect for volunteers who are unable to serve the entire week. Volunteer Hospitality Teen Helper: This teen would help prepare and serve food to the volunteers. This volunteer would help clean up the kitchen daily. Technical Team Helpers: This volunteer will assist with the technical needs in various areas of VBS. Final approval is required from the Tech Team Director before a volunteer is selected. Clean-Up Crew Helpers: This volunteer will partner with a VBS Director and clean-up a designated area of the church. Duties may include taking down decorations, storing supplies in designated areas--no heavy lifting required. Serve Friday between 12:15-3:30pm.
