2017 VBS Volunteer Opportunities Adult Crew Leader (Elementary): Lead a group of approximately 20 Kids all the same age (Kindergarten through 4th grade). Responsibilities include helping check-in all children and participate with them in the opening/closing times and helping your group travel to each of your station rotations according to your schedule. Help station Leaders by keeping kids engaged in the activities, and lead children in a snack & Mission moment.

Crew Leader (Preschool): Lead a group of approximately 20 PreK kids. Responsibilities include helping check-in all children and participate with them in the opening/closing times and helping your group travel to each of your station rotations according to your schedule. Help station Leaders by keeping kids engaged in the activities, and lead children in a snack and supervise them on the playground.

Bible Storyteller: Lead a grade level Bible Story station (PreK-4th grade)— you may have anywhere from 3 to 5 rotations of kids coming through. Storytellers are responsible for sharing the bible story for each day, and are crucial to the learning and relationship building that happens at VBS. Each story has unique activities that go along with it, and is very similar to teaching Sunday School. Curriculum/materials are provided, but you are free to make it your own, and will often have youth helpers to help you.

Craft Station Leader: Lead a grade level Craft station (PreK-4th grade)— you may have anywhere from 3 to 5 rotations of kids coming through. Craft leaders are responsible for helping children and crew leaders create each day’s craft, which will tie into the theme/bible verse/story. All crafts and materials are provided and you will often have youth helpers to help you.

Science Station Leader: Lead a grade level Science station (PreK-4th grade)— you may have anywhere from 3 to 5 rotations of kids coming through. Science leaders are responsible for leading the science experiment/lesson for the day, which ties into the theme. All materials and supplies are provided and you will often have youth helpers to help you.

Recreation Station Leader: Lead a grade level Recreation station (K-4th Grade)—you may have anywhere from 3 to 5 rotations of kids coming through. Games are planned for you and materials are provided, all you have to do is help execute the game! You will often have youth helpers to help you!

Snacks & Hospitality : Help out in the VBS Kitchen by providing and delivering snacks to the snack locations each day. Help keep food and supplies organized and communicate with the director what is needed each day and if anything runs out. Help keep an eye on the Volunteer Hospitality room and make sure it is stocked and cleaned up. Optional: help organize volunteers to donate food/drinks for volunteer hospitality.

Decorations: Help the VBS Leadership team prep decorations on certain days in the months leading up to VBS (usually there are things for both kids and adults to do). Help with other set up/decorating days (TBD).

Nurse: Current or Previous RNs or NPs preferred! Be the on-call nurse for the week. Maintain and be responsible for the first aid kit and be aware of all health issues/allergies of kids in VBS (director will provide list). Attend to any emergency situations if needed.

Set Up: Help set up decorations, stage and other stations on Friday June 23rd or Sunday June 25th (recommended for those who cannot help during the week of VBS).

Clean Up : Help clean up from VBS on Thursday June 29th starting at 10 AM.

Your biggest responsibility in any station is to engage and have fun with the kids and help them know and experience God!
