SERMON NOTES Sunday, September 19, 2010 “ACTING ON GODLY VISIONS” (Nehemiah 2:1-10) Today we continue our Generation to Generation spiritual growth journey with a message from the life of Nehemiah. Nehemiah is a great example of a person who knew God’s word and will but did not stop there. He took the steps to act and apply what God said to do.
1. Visions are fulfilled through ______________________________ (v. 1).

Visions are fulfilled through praying and waiting (v. 1). “In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation” (Psalm 5:3, NIV). “Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD” (Psalm 27:14, NIV). “I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry” (Psalm 40:1, NIV). 2. Visions are fulfilled through attention to opportunities (v. 2). 3. Visions are fulfilled through faith in God’s ability (v. 3-4). 4. Visions are fulfilled through doing our part in preparation (v. 510). 5. Visions are fulfilled through anticipation of obstacles (v. 9-10).
