Christ the King Lutheran Church, New Brighton, MN Position Description (.80 FTE ~ 32 hours per week) The role of the Administrative Assistant is to organize the logistics of the office including information, supplies and equipment, to provide administrative support to Christ the King (CtK) staff members, to welcome all people who visit or contact CtK, and to meet the needs of guests, volunteers, congregants and staff with care and discretion. Working Relationships The Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Director of Operations and works with staff, volunteers, and members. Key Responsibilities Office ▪ Manage the church office and the flow of supplies and information. Distribute mail. Maintain a welcoming, clean office environment. ▪ Oversee the church database and its use. ▪ Welcome all who visit or contact CtK providing information and/or connecting them with the appropriate staff person, volunteer, or ministry area. ▪ Be a knowledgeable presence during office hours. ▪ Manage office equipment including phones, copier, duplicator, paper folder, etc. ▪ Facilitate and schedule building usage in conjunction with staff. ▪ Coordinate mailings as directed. Staff ▪ Manage office resources to support staff projects. ▪ Available for direct administrative support for the pastoral staff and directors. ▪ Serve as the staff meeting coordinator; taking minutes, doing necessary follow-up, and scheduling space. ▪ Recruit and oversee office volunteers ensuring that they are trained to manage their responsibilities. Financial Data Entry ▪ Enter financial information including producing checks using Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains. Miscellaneous § With Director of Operations, establish a work schedule that meets the needs of the church. (School year workweeks will be closer to 32 hours per week and summer workweeks may average fewer hours.) § Able to work independently and as part of a team. Able to complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. § Maintain a positive working relationship through effective communication with staff members, CtK members, and volunteers of the church.

Experience § Two years of office experience or equivalent in education is required. § Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Gmail, Google Documents, and database management is required. § Working experience in a church or faith-based setting is preferred. § Experience working with Mac computers is preferred. § Spanish speaking skills are a plus. Compensation § Commensurate with experience.
