Normal Meeting Schedule Reimbursement Policy

Committee on Nomenclature, Terminology and Symbols (NTS) Other Committee of the Council Appointed by the President NTS addresses the issues and content related to nomenclature, terminology, symbols, and units while raising awareness in ACS of significant changes or proposals of the scientific community. NTS: Consults with and advises editors of SOCIETY publications. Initiates, reviews, recommends and adopts documents and proposals on behalf of Council, as appropriate. Liaises with other national and international organizations, committees, and commissions on matters of nomenclature, terminology and symbols. Provides a means for members of the SOCIETY to participate in the consideration of nomenclature, terminology, symbols and units. Semiannually, at each national meeting. Generally meets Monday afternoon (2pm-5pm) of the meeting week. ACS will reimburse non-Councilor committee members, associates, and consultants for reasonable, ordinary and necessary transportation, lodging, and meal expenses incurred by attending meetings of Councilrelated committees at national meetings, up to an amount equal to 50% of the amount Councilors can be reimbursed under the Non-Councilor Travel Expense Program. For Councilors, reimbursement is provided through the Councilors Travel Expense Program. If necessary, ACS will also reimburse certain travel expenses incurred due to authorized committee meetings and work performed outside of national meetings. Molly A.
