Drops and still more drops – Melita’s right eye cataract surgery on March 27th seemed to go well. But unlike the left eye operation this eye is still getting drops four times a day. There have been some swelling complications so join us in prayer for complete healing. A few days ago the surgeon prescribed a new medication. Thank God she is seeing much better on both eyes and hopes that new reading glasses will be the next step. God at Work in Indonesia
“Four years ago ‘Nona’, a Muslim Indonesian university student, took an Islamic course. She wanted information in order to Islamize Christians. There was required research. She discovered GUIDE websites and learned that her professor's understanding of Jesus was faulty. One night she performed a special ritual prayer asking Allah, ‘What must I do?’ She had a vision of Jesus. Within days she became a believer. Last year ‘Purity’, our Indonesian director, met this woman. How many more, like her, whom we have never heard about, are coming to faith?”
“A former Indonesia guerilla fighter has come to Jesus along with over 50 of his ex-colleagues. His journey began when he started to question the Qur’an and prayed that God would show him the truth. God answered through sparing his life when Special Forces killed many of his men and the rest had to surrender. A Christian officer realized God was working in him and introduced him to evangelists who led him to Jesus and are discipling him. As you can imagine, some of his friends were furious and threatened to kill him, yet he stood firm. In some respects his life has become harder – especially economically. God has protected and provided for his family, sometimes in miraculous ways. His testimony is that God has been transforming him from an angry man who wouldn’t hesitate to kill, to now loving even his enemies; from someone who didn’t really love his wife and children, to enjoying showing them love.”
The above testimonies came to us recently from our co-workers in Indonesia. We hear many such stories. We continue to translate and write articles for the GUIDE websites. We also stay in touch and share the Gospel with some of our Muslim friends here in Hamilton. Pray that many more lives will be transformed. WEC Seniors/Retirees It has been a privilege to serve as pastoral coordinators for WEC Canada Retirees. Since we began doing this ministry nine years ago thirty senior missionaries have ‘graduated’ to their heavenly home. We are able to follow them and encourage them through many health challenges. Pray for wisdom and sensitive hearts. We are so grateful for your prayers.
