Andersen Honors Transportation and Logistics Relationships at Awards Ceremony BAYPORT, Minn. (February 19, 2014) – Recently Andersen Corporation recognized five companies for their excellent service to Andersen. This is the sixth year Andersen has handed out its awards for transportation/logistics excellence. Winners were chosen based on a combination of corporate and customer feedback as well as their contributions to specific program goals. “One of the important ways we lead the industry is through service,” said Vahan Badalow, Director of Transportation & Logistics Strategy, Andersen Corporation. “Transportation and logistics are as much a reflection of our company as the quality of our products, so it’s only natural that we recognize the providers who make this side of the business nearly invisible to our customers. And extend our reputation of reliability as a result.” The winners, who received our signature art glass plaque at the ceremony and praise among their peers, are: Truckload Carrier of the Year: Dart – a valued Andersen ally for more than 30 years, Dart Transit Company continued its tradition of excellent customer service, delivering a challenging book of business, and becoming a leader in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles. The CNG relationship between Andersen and Dart has reduced CO2 emissions by nearly 650 metric tons in the last two years. LTL Carrier of the Year: Valley – Valley Cartage continues its winning streak in this category, receiving this award for the fourth consecutive year. The company’s combination of excellent on-time performance and customer service has supported Andersen operations across the upper Midwest for several decades and consistently exceeds customer expectations. Partner of the Year: UPS – since the start of their business relationship in 2010, Andersen and UPS have grown the scope of work from parcel services to include international freight forwarding and high-priority air shipments. The UPS team keeps an eye on opportunities for continued improvement and savings, bringing up suggestions for changes to technology, contract design or optimization that will continue to serve Andersen’s broader operational efficiency goals. Partner of the Year: DRT Transportation – one of Andersen’s most creative and dependable truckload providers, DRT earned this special recognition by consistently going above and beyond customer expectations. Whenever a challenge arises, from something as simple as covering a load or something complex such as augmenting Andersen’s private, DRT delivers results.
Partner of the Year: US Bank Freight Payment – an Andersen ally for nearly 15 years, U.S. Bank transitioned Andersen’s Silver Line® and E-Series product lines onto US Bank Freight Payment over the last year, creating a single payment and reporting environment for the entire Andersen corporation. The tool’s business intelligence reporting allows Andersen to measure purchases and utilization, while its financial instruments support the corporation’s accounting practices.
