“Angels Teach Us To Celebrate Christmas”

II) Angels Are Humble Servants For God. (28-30)

Luke 1:26-38

Dec. 23, 2018

Some religions teach people to worship angels. Many of them promote the work of angels over the work of God. This is very wrong. The Bible makes it clear that angels are only servants of God. And all of the angels would consider it their greatest pleasure to serve the cause of Jesus Christ.

A) We tend to think if we ever came face-to-face with an angel that we would be bombed out of our minds. Scared! Terrified! Horrified!

B) Someone is sure to ask: Pastor, do angels really have a problem with humility?

Psalm 127:4 tells us that God knows all the stars by name. If the stars are important enough for God to name them all, then certainly He has names for all the angels. However, Gabriel is one of the very few angels to have his name recorded in the Bible because he was on a very important mission.

III) The Angels Are Hopeful Students Of Grace: (31-33)

I) Angels Are Heralds Of The Good News:

B) Those who minister grace are first students of grace.

(26-27)

A) Gabriel, the mighty one of God is an angel of proclamation. He appears four times in the Bible: two times in Daniel and two times in Luke. He is always proclaiming good news.

B) Proclaiming the Good News brings great joy.

A) Gabriel proclaimed to Mary a message that he had great interest in knowing.

IV) Angels Are Agents Of Helpful Service To Us: (34-35) A) Gabriel helps Mary understand God’s miraculous powers. B) The holy account ends with Gabriel’s departure.
