Worship: Participating in worship today are Pastor Mary Beth Anton, Pastor Shannon Weisenfels, and Emily Goodfellow. The Sanctuary Flowers are given today in loving memory of Mrs. Mary Frances “Chan” Driscoll on her birthday on April 20th, from her sons T. Edgar Paup and Henry B. Paup, Fort Worth, Texas. With joy and thanksgiving, the Sacrament of Baptism will be received today by Ryan Daniel Rowzee, son of Elizabeth and Miles Hartman and Daniel Rowzee; grandson of Doris and John Braun and Martha Rankin and Danny Rowzee; nephew of Nikki and John Braun. Sunday, April 19, at the 8:15 Sanctuary Service we will commission our very own Dr. Greg Bartha as a missionary to Uganda. Dr. Bartha has been instrumental in starting The Cross Emergency Medical Clinic in eastern Uganda and God has called him to move there as a missionary to use his gifts as he has done so well here in Midland. He plans to leave April 29. In addition to the commissioning on April 19, there will also be a reception for Dr. Bartha during the coffee fellowship that morning. If you’d like to help support Dr. Bartha’s ministry financially, the church is accepting gifts and will send them on for use in the field. Time with Children First Reading of Scripture

Welcome! We are glad you are here! Loving and Leading all people to deeper life in Jesus Christ is the mission of FPC. We trust during this time of worship you will sense God’s presence. May the praise, the prayers, the music, and the Word of God give you Joy and confidence during the week ahead! Preparation for Worship The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, generous inside and out, true from start to finish. John 1:14, The Message Jesus Christ is the hope of God’s world. In his death, the justice of God is established; forgiveness of sin is proclaimed. On the day of resurrection, the tomb was empty; his disciples saw him; death was defeated; new life had come. God’s purpose for the world was sealed. from Our Song of Hope, Reformed Church in America Entrance Voluntary

*Affirmation of Faith from Our World Belongs to God: A Contemporary Testimony As followers of Jesus Christ, living in this world— which some seek to control, and others view with despair— We declare with joy and trust: Our world belongs to God! The Spirit gathers people from every tongue, tribe, and nation into the unity of the body of Christ. Anointed and sent by the Spirit, the church is thrust into the world, ambassadors of God’s peace, announcing forgiveness and reconciliation, proclaiming the good news of grace. Going before them and with them, the Spirit convinces the world of sin and pleads the cause of Christ. Men and women, impelled by the Spirit, go next door and far away into science and art, media and marketplace— every area of life, pointing to the reign of God with what they do and say. We declare with joy and trust: Our world belongs to God! Prayers of the People and the Lord’s Prayer “Christ Be Our Light” Please sing twice.

By your resurrection you raised the dead, And brought us from death to life. Guide us in the way of eternal life.

Worship Note: Today concludes our sermon series: Streams of Living Water. Our focus in the service is The Incarnational Tradition: Discovering the Sacramental Life. If you have not yet read Richard J. Foster’s Streams of Living Water: Essential Practices from Six Great Traditions of the Christian Faith, we encourage you to do so as it challenges us to fully live into our discipleship, daily following Jesus where he leads.

By your resurrection you confounded your guards and executioners, And filled the disciples with joy. Give us joy in your service. By your resurrection you proclaimed good news to the women and apostles, And brought salvation to the whole world. Direct our lives as your new creation. God of mercy, We no longer look for Jesus among the dead, for he is alive and has become the Lord of life. From the waters of death you raise us with him and renew your gift of life within us. Increase in our minds and hearts the risen life we share with Jesus, and help us to grow as your people toward the fullness of eternal life with you, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

“Domine Deus” from “Gloria, RV 588” Antonio Vivialdi, ed. G. Pysh Collie Roland, tenor

The Affirmation of Faith comes from Our World Belongs to God: A Contemporary Testimony, 2008, which is a statement of faith of the Christian Reformed Church in America. Prayers for the Church, The World, and Those in Need The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
