Non-work-hardening indium alloy seat that is reflowable and a slip clutch on the drive screw to control depth of knife edge penetration into the seat contribute to the long-life performance of KEL valves. After 200 or more closures, the seat can be reflowed in minutes without removing valve from system. Indium alloy has vapor pressure less than 1 0 1 0 mm Hg at room temperature; 10 ' mm Hg at 450° C. 1 " , I V 2 " . and 2 " sizes. Angle and cross type. Standard flange assemblies available.
