Summer Evening Women’s Study

The summer women’s Bible Studies are a wonderful option to break up all of the commotion that summer can sometimes bring. I started going as a way to help build my knowledge and understanding of the written word and continued because of the wonderful women that I meet. The emotional connections that are formed between the members of your group build each week and form lasting bonds. We are able to come together every week as friends and build our faith together. I believe that through the women’s studies offered through Southwood, I am able to enjoy life better due to being able to listen and share more. The knowledge the women’s studies have given me has really helped me become more involved in a spiritual journey with my family and friends. I am more open in my beliefs and love having outside discussions about the topics in current and past studies.

It’s never fun to deal with an angry person, whether it is situational or a chronic issue. Here are some tips:

ff Listen and acknowledge their feelings—“I can tell you are really upset about ...” ff Then, ask how you can help them—“What is it I can do to help?” Be sure to keep boundaries and not take on their problem. Sometimes listening is all they needed. ff Reframe it in your mind—Realize they may be doing the best they can and just need a sounding board. Anger is one of our basic emotions. It’s not wrong; it can just uncomfortable to deal with at times. Source: https://www.caring.com/articles/7-ways-to-handle-an-angry-person
