The “Caring About Food Safety” is led by the Health Protection Branch, Population and Public Health, Ministry of Health
Participants can click on the dialogue boxes to gain more information.
Participants make their way through the grocery store, buying the items on their shopping list in the correct order to ensure food safety. A voice over responds to the users choices to explain the best ways to ensure safe shopping and to guide them through the activity.
Participants interactively unpack bags of groceries by clicking and dragging items into the appropriate storage location.
By selecting items such as the microwave, stove pot or thermometer, vital information regarding safe reheating, the temperature ‘danger zone’ and preparation of various meats is outlined
Audio, text and interactive elements teach proper techniques for cleaning and sanitizing after preparing food.
Interactive quizzes test knowledge and reinforce lessons.
