A Note From SCS Management
In an effort to keep your property values up and the neighborhood looking great deed restriction inspections are conducted once per month. Some items that will be cited are unkempt yards, stored or immobile vehicles, commercial vehicles as well as construction with out approval. If you are planning any home improvement, addition or any exterior change please contact SCS for an Architectural Control Committee (ACC) application form. Upon receipt of your form, the association will respond as quickly as possible. Compliance with your community guidelines is greatly appreciated!
2006 Annual Meeting
The Willowlake HOA 2006 Annual Meeting is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, October 26th. Mark your calendar and plan to attend this very informative meeting. This year there will be two board positions up for reelection.
Mosquito Fogging
Mosquito fogging is done once per week, April through October, within the community. The scheduled day for the fogging is Wednesday. Fogging usually commences after 11:00pm
Please keep your pool tags! You will need them again next year!
“W” Decal
The Willowlake HOA has provided two decals for each residence in the welcome packet you receive. Additional decals for cars registered to your Willowlake address are 50 cents each and can be obtained from either SCS Management or any HOA board member. If you do not receive a “W” decal, please contact SCS Management or a board member to obtain one. Affix the “W” decal to the lower left corner (driver’s side) of your vehicle’s back windshield. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and welcome to Willowlake!

On behalf of our entire board, we would like to welcome Dave White as the newest Board Member of The Willowlake HOA Board of Directors.
Vacation Watch
The Harris County Constables office, precinct 4 offers a program called “Are You Okay”. Part of the program allows residents of this precinct to send in a form via email that allows you to notify the constable’s office you will be on vacation or away from your home for an extended period of time. They can then use your information and have the constable on duty for our neighborhood more closely monitor your home and be more aware of any activity at your residence. If you will be away from home notify your neighbors so they can also be on the lookout for any suspicious activity around your home when you’re gone. They can pick up your paper or any flyers that may be put on your door.

Our current Treasurer’s term is expiring at the end of this year and she will not be running for re-election. The HOA board is seeking a resident with an accounting background to fill the vacancy. The treasurer is responsible for signing/authorizing checks on behalf of Willowlake HOA and assisting with other financial matters. We are aware that our neighbors want to know what is going on in and around the neighborhood. Following are two reports to keep you informed. We feel that an informed neighborhood is a safe neighborhood. It has been reported that there is an ongoing crime problem, with numerous burglaries, in the areas bordering Gessner, north of 290. While our surrounding communities remain quiet, we should report any suspicious vehicles or individuals immediately. The Sheriff’s Department encourages you to call when you have any suspicions at all, their number is: 713-221-6000. Please keep this number in a handy place where you can reach it quickly. There is also a matter that has become a citywide concern in Houston. The Sheriff’s Department asks all citizens heading towards their home to be VERY aware of their surroundings and to watch for vehicles that may be following them. Business owners, in particular, should take special care when leaving their place of business and heading home. Alert citizens make for a safe neighborhood.

Service will be provided on the next regular scheduled collection day. **Bulk items will be picked up the second regularly scheduled service day of the week with a limit of one item per home per week. (old furniture, washers, dryers, etc.) **Service will be provided for up to ten (10) items of properly packaged residential household waste. **Branches, tree trimmings and other similar yard waste will be restricted to a diameter of no more than three inches and are required to be cut in lengths not to exceed four feet and securely tied. **Moving boxes must be broken down, flattened and bundled. Willowlake Alpha is Coming! Alpha is Coming!
Alpha? Alpha is for anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith-people investigating Christianity or Christians who want to discuss their questions. Adults and high school students of all ages are welcome. The Alpha course is being hosted by Messiah Lutheran Church on Thursday evenings beginning August 24 for 11 consecutive weeks, 6:00-8:30 PM. The evenings begin with a supper provided by the church. Childcare is provided. All people are invited to participate in the Alpha course. Alpha offers a safe, non-judgmental environment to discuss questions of the faith. Registration is free; please call the church office so we have enough material for all. Messiah Lutheran Church is a grace place, a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Messiah is located at 11522 Telge Road, ½ mile north of Highway 290.
