Each qualifying person (QP) of a licensed residential building contractor, residential remodeler, and residential roofer must complete 14 hours of continuing education per two-year licensure period. Each licensee’s QP must, during each reporting period, complete and report one hour of continuing education relating to energy codes or energy conservation measures applicable to residential buildings.
Contractors must show their firm’s EPA Firm Certification to the local building official to obtain a building permit to work on a pre-1978 home. Mold and Radon: Cause & Effect
All Under One Roof
Why does mold affect one house and not the next? We have produced separate one-day courses for many years covering mold and radon. Now we have brought the two courses together to create a fast-paced layman’s view of these two subjects in a single day. Attending this full-day course will give you a sound insight into why mold and radon occur in some houses and not in others. You will also learn what steps to take to overcome what appears to be a major problem at minimal cost. Whatever your view on mold or radon, you will come away from this class with a more balanced view of the issues and understand how to achieve physical control of these two concerns. Our instructors are fully qualified to teach these subjects with skill and humor. Mold and Radon: Cause & Effect is an interesting way to cover these two subjects in a manner that will excite, educate, and entertain you. If you allow your certification to expire, you will be required to retake the 8-hour initial Lead-Based Pain Renovation, Repair, and Painting Program again to reinstate it. As you may know, the EPA signed a final rule that extended the original 5-year certification for certain certified renovators. See below to determine when you should renew your EPA Lead-Safe Certification.
