The Loading Station is the point at which the arrival of specimens is acknowledged and announced to the LIS. Should there be a bar-code reading error or a specimen container without test orders, for example, these problems are flagged for resolution and the specimen container is routed to a reject lane. Must have SPS Centrifuge or equivalent: - This module loads specimen containers into one of the centrifuge sub-modules and balances them. The Centrifuge can maintain optimal refrigerated or ambient temperature controlled conditions. The centrifuge door is closed automatically and the centrifuging process begins according to the spin program previously set by the laboratory. Specimen containers are loaded through one of the three access drawers. After centrifugation, specimen containers are either loaded directly onto the transport system or retrieved through an access drawer. deployed into locations where fluid specimens are collected by phlebotomists and then shipped by courier to one or more laboratories for analysis. Currently, the phlebotomist will draw the sample, label the specimen containers with the accession information, spin down the sample, if required, and sort the sample into the appropriate container for the courier. This is a repetitive, time consuming task, keeping the lab tech from other duties. The Specimen Preparation System will automate the centrifugation and sorting of sample specimen containers into automation ready racks for transport to a regional laboratory, hospital or other location. These racks provide a means for laboratory personnel to easily load specimen containers directly onto the Transport System. Miscellaneous - Upon FDA approval of technology advancement to the system’s hardware or software, facility has the option to upgrade. - If vendor is awarded a Novation contract for the consumables, the supplier will report sales and pay administrative fees for all LA County purchases under the agreement. Please note the following: - Invoice should match PO Line per line. - There will be a 45 day acceptance period in which the county could test the product. (Some equipment may require uncrating and installation by the vendor. The testing period will not start until this is accomplished.
