Daniel McCarthy State Representative District 13 Press Release I am, and will always be collecting information with our local leaders and community to move our district foward. Many of the questions provided about economic development and growth are constantly revolving. I look foward to meaningful conversations to advance and deal with these changes.

“Here am I, send me.” My wife and I love Texas, and we want to keep the values that we have in our life, and in our community, so we thought we should try to do our part…If not us, who? In Isaiah, The Lord said, “Whom shall I send? Well, here am I, send me… “Fight for you, District 13 and Texas.” If you send me to Austin, I will fight for you, this community, the values of District 13 and the values Texans have fought and died for over the centuries. Texas is a very special place, and as I’ve been around the world defending our nation’s freedoms, I know that freedom-loving people around the world look not just to the United States but to Texas as a beacon of liberty. The spirit of the Alamo runs through this Marine and others like me who served our nation, and frankly it gives you courage when you’re facing evil. When I’m casting votes for you in the Texas House of Representatives, you won’t have to worry about my courage to stand up to liberals and those who want to take your freedoms – I have fought for freedom all over the world, I’ve fought ISIS, I’ve fought the Taliban and I’ve even stood up to the Russians. I can stand up to the liberals in Austin. “Make America like Texas…” The issues we are seeing here in Texas, are the same issues that we’re seeing around the country. Liberals are trying to have open borders, they’re coming after our 2 nd Amendment rights and even our first amendment rights. And we’ve all witnessed the explosive growth of government in Washington, D.C. I saw Secretary Perry the other day and he had a hat that said “Make America Like Texas,” and you know, he’s right! If Texas can be a beacon and uphold the values of the Constitution, then I think the nation will follow and that’s what I’m going to fight for – to make sure the world sees and knows that here

in Texas, we value individual liberty. “Why me?” I’m sure all the candidates in this race have a perspective they wish to bring, but I assure you, I am the only one has dedicated his life to fighting for your freedom…literally. From living in a one parent household after my father passed away, I had to grow up quickly. Understanding what it's like to struggle, living paycheck to paycheck. I used the values taught from my family and live my life to fulfill the needs of my own. Love of God, Family and, Country. These are the values I want to pass on to my children. The Marine’s instilled in me the dedication, perserverance and fortitude to fight for what is right. Here I am in Washington County, Texas, the birthplace of Texas, knowing that I can make a difference for you, for my children and for future generations of Texans… “Always faithful.” As you know, I joined the marines after the cowardly attack on the twin towers sealed my belief that I have to fight for our freedoms in the face of terror, and served our country in Iraq and Afghanistan. Texas sent 225,000 men and women, more than any other state, a point of which I am extremely proud and you should be proud as well. I am a conservative. Not a meek weigh the options conservative. I am a principled conservative who has been battle tested and service worthy. But first and foremost, I am a Texan. Because I believe in our core that Texas values are conservative values and Marine values - we all share a commitment to liberty. And to that, I will always be faithful. Marine. Conservative. Texan. Semper Fidelis.
