A Journey Begins … Beginning on November 30, 2014, as a church family we will embark upon an unusual journey. From the first Sunday of Advent through Easter Sunday, we will travel through the book of Matthew together. Each of our Sunday worship services and Wednesday Bible studies will focus on a different piece of Matthew’s story. Yet what ties these individual moments together is a common theme, a theme which comes to dominate all of Matthew’s gospel: Redemption. A Place for Story … Matthew’s gospel story is one of redemption. As we will see in the coming months Matthew, time and again, draws his reader’s attention to God’s work of redemption among the people of the world. We believe that God continues His work of redemption today, and we want to tell those stories. As our church family begins to turn its attention to God’s work of redemption throughout our lives and throughout our world, we want to invite you to share your own story of God’s redemption with us. In the coming weeks, this space will host stories of people from our church family who have encountered God’s redemptive love first hand. If you would consider sharing your own story, we invite you to email us at [email protected] or send us a letter here at the church (First Baptist Knoxville, Attn: Redemption Stories, 510 W. Main St., Knoxville, TN 37902). We pray that the coming months will lead you into deeper relationship with a Lord and Savior who is constantly working to redeem the world and us along with it. With an eye towards redemption, Your First Baptist Staff
