Call to Confession

Peter Ray

Prayer of Confession Eternal God, You made us in Your image, with a mind to know You, a heart to love You, and a will to serve You. But our knowledge is imperfect, our love inconstant, our obedience incomplete. Day by day, we fail to grow into Your likeness. (silent confession) Merciful God, In Your tender love, forgive us through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Kyrie Lord, have mercy upon us. Christ, have mercy upon us. Lord, have mercy upon us.

Declaration of Forgiveness Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what God has done for me. I cried out to God for help, confessing my sin, and praising God’s name. If I had not spoken the truth, God would not have listened. But God did! God heard my prayer and forgave my sin. Praise God, who listens when we pray and who responds with unfailing love!

*Gloria Patri Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

*The Passing of the Peace The peace of the Lord be with you always. And also with you. (During the Passing of the Peace, children are invited to come forward for the time with our young disciples.)

*Affirmation of Faith

from The Belhar Confession Brad Clayton We believe in God — the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who gathers, protects and cares for the church. We believe the church is one worldwide communion of saints, called from the entire human family. We believe the church is the single community of believers, reconciled with God and with one another. We believe that through the working of God’s Spirit, unity is a binding force and also that we must seek this unity, which must become visible to the world. We believe that the sin of division, separation and hatred between people and groups has been conquered by Christ. We commit ourselves to protecting the unity of the church universal. We pledge to make this unity active in all of our words, thoughts and deeds.

Prayers of the People & The Lord’s Prayer

Brad Clayton

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Summer Breakfast. Each summer Sunday, join us for breakfast in Fellowship Hall at 9:30 in lieu of Sunday School. This gives our teachers a summer break and allows time for Faith family and friends to fellowship together over breakfast. Sealey Partnership. Once again we are partnering with Sealey Elementary School by gathering school supplies for teachers' classrooms. Please be on the lookout for stars on the bulletin board across from the Parlor. Please stop by and pick up some of these stars, bring the supplies back by August 5 and place them in the provided bins in front of the bulletin board and in the church office. If you would like to get more involved with the Sealey Partnership Program, please contact Mary Chiles at 850-212-1744 or Beverly Sims at 850-510-3827. Thanks so much for your help! Lunch Bunch for senior adults is Thursday, July 11, 11:30 a.m., at Village Pizza 1400 Village Square Boulevard #33. Please make your reservation with Jeanette Moore, 386-8514. Summertime! School’s out and a lot of families are heading out on vacation. Historically, our giving has gone down during summer months when members are on vacation, causing us to have budget concerns. Please remember that the church’s ministry does not stop for the summer, so we need everyone to continue their monthly giving during the summer months. The Church Finance Office can set up automatic bank drafts for your contributions if you prefer; you can also now give online at www.faithpcusa.org. Contact Valerie Marlow, [email protected], 385-6151, for more information. We Need You! During the summer months, as our faithful office volunteers go on vacation, we need substitutes who would love to spend a morning, lunch hour, or afternoon covering the front desk, answering phones and greeting visitors to the church office. If you would consider taking a shift, contact Randy Zepp, [email protected]. Prayer Popsicles! Please stop by the narthex and pick out a prayer popsicle to pray for a specific youth and/or chaperone as they travel to and from Montreat this month. Thank you for your prayer support! Please pray for these summer trips/events: July 14-21 Middle School Mission & Montreat July 21-26 Kids @ Dogwood Acres July 21-27 High School Montreat
