The K R O M O - T O G Model K-5 Opens new frontiers of research in gas and vapor chromatography
WIDE RANGE OF ANALYSIS-
ANALYZES HIGH BOILERS TO 4 7 5 ° C. A N D OVER!
SENSITIVE DETECTORS-
DETECTS FRACTIONS OF MILLIONTHS!
EXTREMELY FLEXIBLE-
2 SYSTEMS ANALYZE SIMULTANEOUSLY!
The new Burrell Kromo-Tog, Model K-5, is offered as the finest and most versatile research instrument in the entire field of modern gas and vapor chromatography. It accurately analyzes and records the components of almost any material which can be reduced to a gas or liquid
sample, including fatty acids and compounds containing as high as 36 carbon atoms. All of the most advanced K r o m o - T o g features, plus tested innovations, have been incorporated in its outstanding d e s i g n . T w o c o m p l e t e systems include separate columns, detectors, controls and fraction collectors. One or t w o recorders, with or without integrators, may be specified as required.
of instrumentation test data is available from Eastman Kodak Co. Designated as Kodak Lmagraph Direct Printing Paper, it may be used in conjunction with several new special type, moving mirror, galvanometer oscillographs. At low recording speeds a legible record is visible immediately. At higher speeds, the trace becomes visible within ten seconds after exposure to fluorescent light. When multiple prints are desired, intermediates can be made on Kodagraph Autopositive Materials for use in direct process reproduction. The company says that, while records on the new paper adequately maintain sharpness and legibility, a high degree of permanence can be obtained by fixing the paper by conventional photographic means. P-17 Gamma Irradiator Gammacell 220 is the trade name of a new laboratory size, self-contained gamma irradiator announced by Atomic Energj' of Canada, Ltd. Dose rates of about a million roentgens per hour are provided at the center of a 220-cu. in. irradiation chamber. Dimensions of the chamber are six inches in diameter by 7 T / 8 inches high. The cobalt-60 radioactive source is arranged in squirrel cage configuration into which the irradiation chamber moves by pushbutton control. The chamber is automatically returned from the irradiate position after a preset time. Access tubes to the irradiation chamber permit irradiation of liquids or gases or incorporation of electrical leads. The unit weighs 7000 pounds and occupies a floor area of 16 sq. ft. with a maximum height of 76 inches. P-18
