GROW IT. COOK IT. SHARE IT. Charlotte’s bunting instructions

My daughter and I have been making bunting for years and we have found this to be one of the quickest and easiest ways to create some very pretty bunting – and you don’t need a sewing machine either! Follow the steps below to create your own Grow it. Cook it. Share it bunting – it will really add a sense of occasion to your event.

You will need: • • • • • • • •

Your printed and cut out Grow it. Cook it. Share it Bunting Flag template. A mixture of fabrics that will suit your fundraising party. 1 roll of bias binding tape, around 3 cm wide. Tailor’s chalk. Tape measure. Pinking shears. Sewing thread. Pins.

What to do: 1.

Lay out your material and fold in half, so it is double sided.

2.

Place the Bunting Flag template on your fabric, ensuring the top of the triangle sits at the fold of your fabric.

3.

Use tailor’s chalk to mark out.

4.

Cut out with pinking shears.

5.

Repeat until you have used all of your fabric.

6.

Evenly space your flags along the tape. I usually allow 12 cm between each flag. Make sure you leave around 30 cm of tape at each end for hanging and tying.

7.

Fold the tap over the flags and pin in place.

8.

Sew the long edges of the flags together using a small running stitch.

9.

Repeat and remove pins.

10.

Hang and admire!
