Navitas is seeking to employ an experienced Payables/Corporate Finance Officer to join our growing North American team in UMass Boston. The Payables/Corporate Finance Officer, in conjunction with the Finance Controller USA, is responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of the financial records of Navitas USA. Duties will be preparation of journal entries, allocations of expenses between the US Business Units, Accounts Payable, maintaining fixed asset registers, bank reconciliations and account analyses, and ensure compliance with all financial controls. Key Responsibilities          

Prepare monthly management accounts including variance reports and actions to correct variances. Prepare end of year accounts. Manage the General Ledger including monthly reconciliation of bank and debtor ledgers. Prepare monthly financial reports and statements for the Board and ad hoc reporting as required by the Senior Executive Group. Manage cash balances for USA Holdings and the US Business Units Support the staff in the US Business Units in managing the Student Fees Account. Manage creditor control functions (including payment of creditors, maintenance of payment records), etc for all US Business Units. Manage the commission payment process (including obtaining BU data from Maze, calculating commission, entry into Oracle, and processing of payments). Maintain the Company Asset Register. Maintain and ensure compliance with Group and US policy and controls.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience  

Legal right to work in USA. Degree in Accounting and a minimum of 3 years corporate accounting experience.

   

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of professional accounting principles and practices and the ability to apply the knowledge. Experience with external financial reporting. Knowledge and experience with corporate financial, accounting, and administrative information systems. High level of analytical skills with demonstrated ability to synthesize financial and nonfinancial information in order to develop activity-based costing tools and methodologies. Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, presentation and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with, and within, a team. Customer-focused with an understanding that all staff and students are your customers. Demonstrated capacity to identify and implement internal controls and process improvements.



Valid passport and ability to travel internationally and domestically

Desirable Skills   

Experience with Oracle and Hyperion Financial Planning Software. Understanding of higher education sector. Experience in working with international students.

In consultation with the Finance Controller: i.

Essential: i.
