GIS GRADUATE MacArthur Green specialises in the provision of ornithological, ecological and hydrological consultancy services to the renewable energy sector. Our work covers the terrestrial and marine environment. We also have a strong specialism in the issues surrounding peat surveying and management. Our team consists of a small, friendly and highly specialist team that deliver high value work to clients including the Crown Estate, the Scottish Government, Scottish Natural Heritage, Natural England and the UK Government. We also work for some of the largest renewable developers in the United Kingdom, and indeed internationally, such as ScottishPower Renewables, Scottish and Southern Energy Renewables, RES UK & Ireland and PNE Wind UK Ltd, with numerous projects onshore as well as offshore. We pride ourselves on our pragmatic, problem solving approach, offering our clients our unique expertise in this thriving sector. We require a motivated GIS graduate with a passion for the outdoors to join MacArthur Green’s specialist team. This post will include the following responsibilities:
Responsibility for undertaking GIS work including figure production. Data management Feed in to and form a key part of our terrestrial and offshore teams. Assisting in ecological fieldwork when required.
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
Degree or equivalent experience in GIS or related discipline. Knowledge and experience of using ESRI ArcGIS and other packages. Ideally some experience in a GIS role within a commercial environment. Strong interpersonal skills. A passion for the outdoors. A flexible and proactive approach to work. Project management skills. The ability to produce high quality figures and deliver them to clients on time and to budget. Understanding of environmental impact assessment. Strong IT skill including MS word and excel. Valid driving licence.
