Person specification Qualifications and knowledge
Skills and experience
Demonstrated experience in a similar level role
Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or international equivalent)
Degree Qualified desired
Advanced Excel and good knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
Languages – English. Another European language would be useful
Knowledge of JD Edwards E1 useful
Proven experience of statutory and management reporting ideally within a multi-site/Listed PLC environment
Solid experience in IFRS, internal controls to underpin commercial skills
Experience of driving forecasting, annual planning and budgeting processes
Demonstrate excellent commercial analysis, business partnering and KPI reporting
Experience of improving business and system processes
Good financial reporting systems experience, including advanced Excel skills, and ability to manipulate and interpret large data sets
Able to manage a challenging workload
Accurate and concise reporting to tight deadlines
Experience in the electronics / distribution industry useful
Multi-currency commercial awareness and foreign-exchange process management

Scope of responsibility Supporting the Acal BFi division of DiscoverIE:
UK sales operating company Centralised operations, including procurement for Europe, logistics and quality, with hubs in UK and Germany
Purpose of the job
To act as an operational business partner to Sales, Procurement and Logistics, providing insightful analysis
To analyse complex data / financial information and effectively communicate findings across the business
Lead forecasting and budgeting process for the business
To monitor revenue and margin and understand variances against expectation
To proactively look for opportunities to improve the quality and scope of information provided by the finance team to internal and external stakeholders

Main duties and accountabilities
Lead the forecasting and budgeting process: P and L, balance sheet and cash flow, proposing and developing improvements
Completion of regular and ad-hoc reporting relating to revenues and costs
Work with the specialist purchasing and logistics function to understand and monitor the regulatory requirements for the import and export of goods
To be an integral member of the UK finance team providing decision support analysis
To assist the UK Financial Reporting team to ensure all deadlines are met, including supporting reporting of actuals to Group
Monitor specific complex areas of the balance sheet to ensure accurate reporting
Supporting the UK Finance Director by providing robust and accurate financial and management reporting
Support long-range plan preparation
Review financial controls recommending and implement appropriate changes
To support the company’s financial strategy in line with the overall Divisional and company strategy
To ensure effective liaison between the UK Finance team and other departments within the Acal BFi Division and discoverIE Group PLC
To ensure compliance with all Divisional and Group policies and processes
To contribute to (and specifically half-year and full-year) management information as required by Group, the company and external auditors
