Dear Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parents, It is my honor to serve as your PTO president for the 2014-2015 school year. Our goal as a PTO is to encourage and support our parents, teachers and students. It is because of the strong volunteer efforts and the dedication of our teachers that we are able to offer so many academic and extracurricular activities though out the school year. Working together, we can truly make a difference at our school and in the lives of our children. Our main fundraising effort last school year was the SCRIP program, which raised nearly $30,000! As a result, nine of our teachers and Mr. Fletcher will be attending a science conference in Atlanta; many more iPads will be purchased for classroom use; and additional ALEKS licenses will be made available to our students. The PTO also helped support the purchase of the new online registration system and the online school directory. Attached you will find a volunteer sign-up form for the beginning of school year events. Please consider volunteering, as it takes many hands and minds to support these programs and activities. Please return the attached form, attention Kathy Reitz, via the school. When using the online registration system, you will have the opportunity to volunteer for other PTO events happening during the school year. I also encourage you to attend the PTO general meetings. This is a great way to meet people and to hear about all of the wonderful events that take place at OLMC each month. We have added two evening meetings next school year, hoping to accommodate those that can't attend during the day.
