Pre-registration for ribbon cuttings is required with three weeks advance notice. Events are scheduled based upon availability. Ribbon Cuttings can be scheduled Tuesday – Thursday, between 9 am and 4 pm. Ribbon Cutting/Mixers can be scheduled Tuesday – Thursday, between 4 pm and 7 pm. Due to Chamber staffing, ribbon cuttings cannot be scheduled on Mondays. The Chamber Ambassador Committee is a group of volunteers, and have limited ability to attend ribbon cuttings after 5 pm, weekends and holidays. Ribbon Cutting Guidelines The Bastrop Chamber of Commerce is pleased to help with your celebration! The Ribbon Cutting ceremony offers a special opportunity to meet other Chamber members, the Board of Directors, Chamber Ambassadors and community leaders from Bastrop as well as your neighbors. We created this guideline to help your celebration succeed. The ceremony is conducted by the Chamber and features a red ribbon, extra-large celebratory scissors and a commemorative digital photograph. We have also partnered with the Bastrop Advertiser to have coverage of your ribbon cutting. Ceremonies require some planning so please contact us at least 3 weeks in advance.

List your event on the Chamber website calendar. List your event on Facebook. Share your event on local discussion boards on Facebook. List your event in the Chamber Newsletter (if schedule in advance). Invite: Chamber Board of Directors, Ambassador Committee, Chamber members & staff. Provide Ribbon & Scissors and conduct the event. Publish photo of event in Chamber Newsletter. Post photo album of event on Chamber Facebook page. Submit photo to media outlets with company name and contact information.

Work with Chamber staff to select a date 3 weeks in advance. Choose the time of the event. Provide a pdf flyer of event to the Chamber. Invite: Customers, prospects, friends, family, neighboring businesses. Provide light refreshments day of event. Confirm date and time with Chamber staff as event approaches. Decorate with signs, banners, and/or balloons. Relax and enjoy your special day!

Congratulations on your business celebration! We at the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce are pleased to help you make the most of your event. From our experience, you can expect 10-30 people in attendance. This depends on a number of factors, the most essential being the promotional efforts to invite your own contacts on your special day.
