For each and every one of us, life begins at conception. That’s a scientific fact; and it’s why we should protect human life from that point. Human embryos should not be deliberately destroyed or used in lethal research.

Using human embryos in stem cell research always destroys the life of that embryo. Stem cell research is enormously important. But it is adult stem cell research, using the patient’s own stem cells, which is successfully providing medical treatments. In fact, about 50,000 patients are now benefitting from adult stem cell therapies. Up to 73 medical conditions, including breast cancer, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries and many others, are being successfully treated using the adult stem cells.* For embryonic stem cell research therapies that number is zero. Destroying human embryos for research is unethical and has delivered nothing. Let’s support stem cell research that we can all live with.
