+Affirmation of Faith (unison) The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. +Hymn #581

-SUN//FEB 17: Small Group Gathering "Cabin Fever" (5:30-7:30p) -SUN//MAR 24: Small Group Gathering "Team Night" (5:30-7:30p)

BACKPACKS OF LOVE -- Our needs this week are small cans of chicken and tuna, and small bowls of vegetables and applesauce. We’d welcome a few volunteers to be on our sub list. We pack at Clear Creek Elementary each Friday morning in teams of 3. Time commitment is generally 2-3 hours. If interested in seeing how it works, you could join us one Friday. Please call Dottie Kastner at 980-339-7713. POWER BILLS, cleaning supplies, office equipment, salaries – not particularly exciting stuff, but all these things are necessary for PPC to continue to be a vessel for God’s love and amazing grace to each other, our community, and beyond. It takes countless volunteer hours and approximately $15,500 each week to do what we believe God has called our church to do. Your faithful support of the current fund and the generous giving of your time and talents help provide the various ministries with the tools necessary to live out our vision to Believe, Love, Evangelize, Share, and Serve (BLESS). Thank you! A TOTAL OF $679.01 was raised for Rise Against Hunger through the Souper Bowl of Caring collection on Super Bowl Sunday. This means we will be able to pack and extra 2000 meals for Rise Against Hunger. MIDWEEK PRAYER SERVICE – Join us for an informal time of prayer every Wednesday 12:00- 12:30PM in the sanctuary. Escape the busyness of your work week and join us for a time of reflection and prayer. If you're unable to join us, we invite you to pray with us from wherever you are. We really believe this will be a refreshing time. CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS who work with children and youth: If you are a teacher, leader, or volunteer for ages 0-18, and you want to continue to volunteer, please remember to fill out the criminal background form found in front of the church office, or print one from the church website and return to Judy Clinton in the church office ASAP. This also includes volunteering for short term events and activities including Vacation Bible School, youth trips, and other activities. The Christian Education ministry team appreciates your cooperation in this measure to ensure safety and to comply with the policy of the PCUSA. Thank you if you have already turned yours in!! COME BE IN CHRIST at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church's annual Women's Retreat, Saturday, March 30, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Join other sisters in Christ as we fellowship and worship together, exploring "who we are in Christ" and what it means to "be in Christ." Free, with a soup and salad lunch provided. Use the form included in today’s bulletin to register. Childcare is available, but RSVP is required. THE SACRAMENT of communion will be observed during both worship services on February 24th.

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAYS Register online for the spring semester. Contact Susan Griffin at [email protected] to volunteer or with questions. This week’s menu: chicken sandwiches, chips, buttered noodles, salad, and dessert. CONFIRMATION is a tradition in the Christian church that has for centuries been utilized as a tool to nurture the spirit and to increase an awareness of the biblical, spiritual, historical, governmental, theological, and practical elements of Christianity. Confirmation is for current 8th grade students. Classes will begin March 3 and will meet each Sunday until April 14 in the Youth Room immediately after the traditional worship service until 1:30pm. This course will cover the areas of Christian worship, church government, the Sacraments, church history, theology, the Scriptures, and spiritual nurture. There will be an informative meeting on Sunday, February 24 @ 10 a.m. in Youth Room. Students that are participating in Confirmation need to attend this meeting with a parent/guardian. As a final celebration, there will be a dinner on April 20 (time and place TBD), at which our confirmands will present their statements of faith. All family members of the confirmands are invited to attend! We will celebrate and recognize our confirmands on Sunday, April 21 (Easter) during worship service. If you plan on being part of Confirmation this year, please notify Shane. EVERYONE has the opportunity to place flowers in the sanctuary for Sunday services in honor or memory of friends and loved ones. Simply sign up for a Sunday on the flower calendar posted on the board outside the church office. If there are questions, please contact Cynthia at 704-545-6172. ATTENTION High School Seniors! Application forms for the Elizabeth Caldwell Junker, the Frances McEwen Hunter, Anne Tweed and Baxter Bigham Scholarship, and the Jimmy Miller Scholarships are available in the information rack outside the church office. Deadline for their return is April 1. THE INVITATION TO MEMBERSHIP: Philadelphia Church welcomes persons who wish to join us in witness and service to Jesus Christ. If you are interested in church membership or desire more information about this congregation, please indicate on the Attendance Register or, as you leave, speak to the pastor.
