+Affirmation of Faith (unison) The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. +Hymn #581

-SUN//JAN 13: Youth Sunday

The Work of Christmas Begins at PPC! When the song of the angels is stilled, When the star in the sky is gone, When the kings and princes are home, When the shepherds are back with their flock, The work of Christmas begins: To find the lost, To heal the broken, To feed the hungry, To release the prisoner, To rebuild the nations, To bring peace among people, To make music in the heart. The work of Christmas is in full swing at PPC! Though 2019 is only a few days old, choirs are practicing, committees are meeting, 55-plus preschoolers are learning each day, 30-plus seniors enjoy lunch and activities together Monday – Friday, 12 neighbors are fed dinner and given a warm place to sleep each Wednesday evening, and more than 100 gather for Wonderful Wednesdays. Youth meet for fellowship and to strengthen their faith. Food is packed for Clear Creek students. Scouts, AA groups, Bible studies, and basketball players are welcomed each week at PPC. With over 400 combined in both worship services most Sundays, our church hosts/serves over 700 people each week for all these activities and more. Thanks to all of you, the work of Christmas – and Christ - continues here in Mint Hill, and will continue throughout 2019 as we believe, love, evangelize, share and serve – together! THE INTERIM PASTOR SEARCH COMMITTEE has been formed by the Session and we have begun our work to find an Interim Minister to lead Philadelphia until we can call a new fulltime Pastor. The members of the committee are Melissa Tamez, David Houck, Ashley Basden, Jamie Blanchard, and Bill Crowder as Chair. First, we ask that you will be in prayer for us and our work ahead. Second, if anyone knows of a minister to suggest as a potential candidate, please get that person’s name and contact info to any of us. JOIN US on January 13th as the youth lead us in praise and worship. BACKPACKS OF LOVE -- It is time to restock our inventory in all categories after the recent holidays.
