Ukraine with Heart for Orphans TEAM MEMBERS: Matthew Burton, Anna Beth Eskridge, Nancy Hathaway, Mark Simon, Sue Tobik, and Wes White DAY 1: Thursday, May 10 Please pray for safe travels as the team departs from the Richmond airport and starts the journey to Ukraine. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. - JAMES 5:16B DAY 2: Friday, May 11 Please pray for continued travel safety and the health of the team as they arrive in Europe, transfer flights to Dnepropetrovsk, and reach their destination of Zaporizhzhia in the afternoon. Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established - PROVERBS 16:3 DAY 3: Saturday, May 12 Join the team in prayer over breakfast, as they anticipate a day of work and fellowship preparing for the dedication of Mel’s House. Give thanks for opportunities the team will have to meet and share God’s love with local pastors, bishop, and guests. Pastor Wes will be speaking today. Please pray for clarity in his message. The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin - PSALM 146:9 DAY 4: Sunday, May 13 At church and over lunch, the team will spend time with the teens who live at Mel’s House. Please pray that the teens will experience God’s love and the joy of belonging to a family of faith. For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me in. - PSALM 27:1 DAY 5: Monday, May 14 Join the team in their morning prayer walk as they prepare to visit a local orphanage in the afternoon. Please pray specifically for the children, leaders, and caregivers the team will meet as they participate in the Orphanage Outreach Program. “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.” – JOHN 14:18-20

DAY 6: Tuesday, May 15 Please pray for travel safety as the team takes the train to Kirovograd and arrives at Michael’s House. Give thanks for the family and teens who proudly call Michael’s House home. Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation. God settles the solitary in a home; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity. - PSALM 68:5-6 DAY 7: Wednesday, May 16 Join the team in their morning prayer walk around Michael’s House. Please pray that God will bless the children, leaders, and caregivers they meet at a local orphanage through the Orphan Outreach Program. Please also uphold the team in prayer as they share their testimonies with the teens over dinner. By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches - PROVERBS 24:3-4 DAY 8: Thursday, May 17 Today the team will say goodbye to the family and teens of Michael’s House. Please pray for safe travels as the team takes a train to the capital city of Kiev. Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.- ISAIAH 41:10 DAY 9: Friday, May 18 The team will spend the day sightseeing and learn more about the culture of Ukraine before preparing to head home tomorrow. Pray for the team debrief time. Pray that the team will reflect on all God has shown them and how to apply what they’ve learned to their daily lives. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” – MATTHEW 9:37-38 DAY 10: Saturday, May 19 Pray for safety and traveling mercies for the team as they take an early morning flight from Kiev, transfer in Europe, and arrive in Richmond this evening. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! - 1 CHRONICLES 16:2
