SAMPLE PROPOSAL March 1, 2018 I, (your name), would like to complete my service learning project at Sisters Academy of Baltimore. Sisters Academy is an independent Catholic school for girls in grades 5-8. The school is in southwest Baltimore and is tuition-free, seeking to educate girls who otherwise would not have access to an engaging and rigorous education. I plan to spend ten days serving at Sisters Academy this summer, over the course of two weeks. I will serve 5 hours on each day for a total of 50 hours. During this time, I will be participating in and helping with the day-to-day activities of the summer school program. This will include tutoring students who struggle with math, playing with students during recess time, participating in physical education classes, participating in prayer times, sharing lunch with students, and helping in any other ways I am asked. This will be direct service because I will be working directly with the girls who attend Sisters Academy. I will be with the same group of girls, and adult teachers and staff members, over the two week period. Therefore, I look forward to forming relationships with the girls whom I will be serving, working, playing, and praying with.
