the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was
good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. Options on How to Deal With Sin: Option 1: Conceal your sin… Fruit: Sin GROWS and intimacy dies.
PROVERBS 28:13 A NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (NIV) 13 Whoever
conceals their sins does not prosper…
GENESIS 3:8-10 NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (NIV) 8 Then
the man and his wife heard the sound of
the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” 10 He
answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was
afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” GENESIS 3:10-12 AND 21 NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (NIV) 10 He
answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was
afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” 11 And
he said, “Who told you that you were
naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?” 12 The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.” Genesis 3:21 New International Version (NIV) 21 The
Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and
his wife and he clothed them.
Option 2: Confess your sin. Fruit: Sin dies and Intimacy abounds. 1 JOHN 1:8-9 NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (NIV) 8 If
we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves
and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. PROVERBS 28:13 NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (NIV) 13 Whoever
conceals their sins does not prosper,
but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. ISAIAH 61:10 NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (NIV) 10 I
delight greatly in the Lord;
my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. GENESIS 3:7 NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (NIV) 7 Then
the eyes of both of them were opened, and they
realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. GENESIS 3:21 NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (NIV) 21 The
Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and
his wife and he clothed them.
“Our concealing of sin provides temporary covering, but confession of sin allows God to eternally cover and results in new clothing. Not clothed in shame but salvation, Not robed in iniquity but righteousness”
