struct "scripts", which essentially are little programs, using a built-in language that can be used for repetitive graphing operations and/or mathematical operations. An additional useful feature is the ability to perform a true weighted least-squares fii with user-supplied uncertainties. (Not all plotting software packages have this feature.) Weighted least squares is available through the general curvefit procedure outlined above. If you prefer a toolbar with graphical icons for operations, you are going to be disappointed with KaleidaGraph. All sesections are made via menus, but this requires only a few additional clicks of the mouse. Instead, KaleidaGraph includes a toolbar of icons for adding and modifying plot labels, moving graphics, creating tables, etc. To sum up, this two-dimensional plotting-and-analysis package is very well done and contains most of the plotting features and curve-fitting, statistics, and data analysis tools that you will need for many applications. The price is about half that of competitive programs although they generally supply the three-dimensional plotting that is not available with KaleidaGraph Reviewed by Pete Poston, Western Oregon State College, Monmouth, and Joel Harris, University of Utah, Salt Lake City
