Staff Accountant Classification: Exempt Reports to: Controller Date: April 4, 2018 JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective The Staff Accountant will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of monthly financial closes of their assigned business segments. This will include financial statement reporting for individual business segments. The position will analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain proper recording of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax liability. Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Close financial books for each business segment within 5 business days. Monitor the general ledger chart of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts. Create, enter and post journal entries to the general ledger. Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes. Ensure SOX compliance and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations. Compute taxes owed, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements. Perform similar or related duties as assigned or directed. Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Physical Demands: This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.

Travel: Some travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience: 1.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management with emphasis in Accounting, or Finance with emphasis in Accounting.

Preferred Education and Experience: 1. 2.

2+ years of experience in Accounting field. Public Accounting experience is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
