A Message from Pastor Dave Dear Calvary Family, As I read through this Quarterly, I am amazed at the amount of opportunity there is to love like Jesus across all cultures and generations this summer. Whether you are personally attending these events or not, let me encourage you with some specific ways you can still be involved and bless all that God desires to accomplish here at Calvary: 1. Pray. Would you commit to pray for Calvary? Pray for those areas you will attend. Also, if you have friends or family that will be part of a missions trip or a student event, pray for that event. If you have a regularly scheduled prayer time, keep this Quarterly by your Bible and pray for one or more of the events each day. 2. Reach. Make a difference in someone’s life this summer. Consider getting involved with one of our Reach ministries listed below or serving at VBS. You can also help spread the word by passing this Quarterly to a friend who has kids that can be involved in these events. Invite a friend to attend with you on a Sunday morning or to a special event such as the Beach Baptisms and Party. 3. Give. Often, summer travel causes some to miss out on giving to support the work of ministry. Many of our events, such as VBS, are provided for free so we can reach as many people as possible with the good news of Jesus. Will you please remember to give, even if you are traveling? One of the best ways I have found to remain faithful in this area, even if I am not here, is through our online giving. Try it out, it is simple and secure. Learn more at calvarylife.org/give 4. Encourage. I am so blessed when I receive notes of thanks or appreciation. And we have so many that serve across our campus and community that also deserve that kind of recognition. As you observe someone at Calvary serving others, please try to drop them a note, email, or text to let them know how much you appreciate them. I want to thank you for your involvement at Calvary. As Christ continues to work in each of us who have been changed by His gospel, we truly will love others across all generations and cultures.
