A. Description: Trouble Code “C-2152 – Transfer Belt Pressure Welding Alienation” occurred when the SubPower Switch is turned ON. Note: a. In few cases Trouble Code “C-2152” is occurred during the set-up of the MFP. (During the Installation) b. Some Customers have informed us that before the trouble Code was occurred, a "Light Image Copy" was printed out and then a "Half White Copy" was printed out; only after these symptoms the Trouble Code "C-2152" was occurred.

B. Cause: The causes of the problem are the followings: a. b.

The shape of the “Detecting Plate” mounted on the Transfer Belt. “Mounting Bracket” of the “Transfer Belt Retraction Detection Sensor” is deformed.

C. Solution: If the Trouble Code “C-2152” occurs on d-Color MF201Plus, d-Color MF250 or d-Color MF350 make the operations below reported.

Supporto Tecnico / Technical Support Note: a. Do not make the modifications below reported on the machines where the Trouble Code “C2152” don’t happen. 1.

Change the “Detecting Plate” If the Trouble Code “C-2152” happens you have to change the “Detecting Plate” from the Transfer Belt Unit. See the Chapter “Procedure for changing the “Detecting Plate”” to change it. The shape of the “Detecting Plate” has been changed as reported on the figure below: Detecting Plate – Old Shape

D. Procedure for changing the “Detecting Plate” 1.

Removing the Transfer Belt Unit form the MFP: a. b. c.

Turn OFF the Main Power Switch and unplug the Power Cord from the MFP Open the Right Panel and remove the Transfer Belt Unit from the MFP Put the Transfer Belt Unit on the table Note: i. Be carefully to put few A3 Paper Sheets between the Table and the Transfer Belt Unit. ii. Overturn the Transfer Belt Unit; because the 1st Transfer Rollers must be upward when the Transfer Belt is put on the table. This operation is made to prevent the damage of the Belt. iii. Make sure that there are no screws and other materials on the table that they can damage the belt. “Figure 1”

Change the Rollers position to Pressure position: a.

Rotate “Pressure / Release Gear” showed with letter “B” on Figure 2 to change the Rollers to Pressure Position. (The rotating direction does not matter)

This is the Pressure Position

Remove the “Metal Plate” and replace the “Detecting Plate” with the new one: a. b. c. d. e.

Remove the screw showed with letter “A” on Figure 2 Remove the “E-Ring” and then the “Pressure / Release Gear” showed with letter “B” on Figure 2 Remove the “Pin” showed on the Figure 3. ATTENTION: Do Not Lose the PIN Remove the “Metal Plate” showed with letter “C” on Figure 2 Remove the screw “M2” (see Figure 4) from the “Metal Plate” to remove the “Detecting Plate” showed wit letter “D” on Figure 2 Figure 4

Set the two “Projections “firmly. (Red Circle on Figure 4 firmly)

Note: The “White Plastic” of “Detecting Plate” must be seen when the “Metal Plate” is remounted. (See the “White Plastic” showed inside of the Red Circle on Figure 7) b. c. d. e.

Remount the “Pin” showed on Figure 2 Remount the “Pressure / Release Gear” showed with letter “B” on Figure 2 and its “ERing”. Remount the screw showed with letter “A” on Figure 2 Rotate “Pressure / Release Gear” to change the Rollers to Release Position, as showed on Figure 8 (Make sure that the Rollers are on Release Position) Note: i. ATTENTION: If the setting is incorrect, the Rollers do not move to Release Position.

5.

Remounting the Transfer Belt Unit to MFP: a.

Install the Transfer Belt Unit to MFP as showed on Figure 9 Note: i. Attention: Transfer Belt and the MFP must be in Gear. Figure 9

6.

Checking Procedure after that the Transfer Belt Unit is installed: ATTENTION: This operation is very important in order to verify and check if the Transfer Belt is positioned correctly. a. b. c. d.

Plug the Power Cord to MFP Turn OFF the Main Power Switch Open the Front Panel when MFP starts “Image Stabilization” for resetting “Pressure / Release” Position recorded in MFP. Close the Front Panel

IMPORTANT NOTE – ATTENTION!!!!: i. If the procedure above mentioned is not made the following two problems occur: I. It is not possible to make Color Copies; while Black Copies can be made. II. First Transfer Rollers for Yellow, Magenta and Cyan pressured when B/W printing and the PC Drums will be damaged. e.

Finally, make sure whether “C-2152” is solved (Touch Screen Display has to be as on Figure 10 – No Trouble Code showed).

Note: i. If the Trouble Code “C-2152” occurs again, to start replacing the “Mounting Bracket” as described on chapter “C – 2” of this document.

Be many careful when you perform this procedure, and follow the instructions step by step; and remember to make the procedure described on Chapter “D-6 “Checking Procedure after that the Transfer Belt Unit is installed””

I hope that this information can help you.
