SONG
Beginning of Service
Let Us Love and Sing and Wonder
Springtime
Let us praise the Savior's name He has hushed the law's loud thunder He has quenched Mount Sinai's flame He has washed us with His blood He has brought us nigh to God
You’re the resurrection that we’ve waited for You buried the night and came with the morning You’re the King of heaven, the praise is Yours The longer the quiet, the louder the chorus
Pitied us when enemies Called us by His grace and taught us Gave us ears and gave us eyes He has washed us with His blood He presents our souls to God Threatens hard to bear us down For the Lord, our strong salvation, Holds in view the conqu'ror's crown He, Who washed us with His blood, Soon will bring us home to God Join and point to mercy's store When through grace in Christ our trust is Justice smiles and asks no more He Who washed us with His blood Has secured our way to God
We will sing a new song ‘cause death is dead and gone with the winter We will sing a new song Let “Hallelujah’s” flow like a river We’re coming back to life Reaching toward the light Your love is like springtime You’re the living water God, we thirst for You The dry and the barren will flower and bloom You’re the sun that’s shining, you restore my soul The deeper You call us, oh the deeper we’ll go Come tend the soil Come tend the soil of my soul And like a garden I will grow
Of the saints enthroned on high Here they trusted Him before us Now their praises fill the sky Thou hast washed us with Thy blood Thou art worthy Lamb of God
After Sermon
Wonder, love, and bless Thy Name. Pardon, Lord our poor endeavor Pity for Thou knowest our frame Wash our souls and songs with blood For by Thee, we come to God
Desert Song
Great Are You Lord
This is my prayer in the desert When all that’s within me feels dry This is my prayer in my hunger and need My God is the God who provides
You give life, You are love You bring light to the darkness You give hope, You restore Every heart that is broken Great are You, Lord
This is my prayer in the fire In weakness or trial or pain There is a faith proved of more worth than gold So refine me Lord through the flame I will bring praise, I will bring praise No weapon formed against me shall remain I will rejoice, I will declare God is my victory and He is here This is my prayer in the battle When triumph is still on its way I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ So firm on His promise I’ll stand All of my life in every season You are still God I have a reason to sing I have a reason to worship This is my prayer in the harvest When favor and providence flow I know I’m filled to be emptied again The seed I’ve received I will sow
It's Your breath in our lungs So we pour out our praise We pour out our praise It's Your breath in our lungs So we pour out our praise to You only And all the earth will shout Your praise Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing Great are You, Lord
WHY? God and Suffering
June 21, 2020
God Uses Suffering to Make Us a Blessing to Others 2 Corinthians 1:3-10 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. 6 If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer. 7 Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort. 3
For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. 9Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead. 10He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again. 8
