In his chapter Who Among the Gods is Like You, O LORD?, he addresses the beauty of God and just what happens when that kind of perfection confronts evil. Read The Highest Beauty and When Love Meets Evil (pp114-120) and discuss as a group using questions such as the following. 1. What stood out to you as we read the excerpt? Something that resonated or challenged you?

After reflecting upon the beauty of God, what can we know for sure about us? Are there any specific revelations that seem especially useful or pointed for you right now?


3. Were there any truths or attributes about God that stuck out to you? Any that challenges conceptions about God you had coming in tonight?
 4. How does the section from Volf (p119) challenge or shape your understanding of God’s wrath? Do you struggle to see a loving God as wrathful?
 5. As you reflect on all that you learned about God, what areas of your life might be positively impacted?
 6. Take some time at the end of this meeting to thank God for who he is. Consider praying as a group out of a psalm, such as Psalm 103.
