East Asia Seth was born in Florida and raised in a very difficult family situation. He was introduced to Christ by an uncle after graduating from high school. After a year and a half of searching, he was finally convinced of the truth of the Gospel and committed his life to the Lord. Seth went on to attend college and earned a degree in teaching. Shana was born in West Virginia and raised in a Christian home. She gave her life to the Lord at a young age, but wasn’t discipled in the faith until college, where she earned degrees in math and Spanish. At that time she spent two summers doing mission work, first in Brazil and then in Honduras. During these summers, God confirmed a call on Shana’s heart to become a teacher. Seth and Shana met at a Bible study and started dating a year and a half later. They got married on New Year’s Eve in 2015, and joined International English and Cultural Studies (IECS) in January of 2016. A few weeks later they headed to East Asia. Their commitment to IECS is for 18 months, through June 2017. Officially they are working with high school students, teaching English as a second language, but their primary focus is to build relationships with students and share the Gospel with them.

Pray for Seth and Shana as they say their goodbyes that God will use these to draw many people to Himself. Pray for their outstanding financial responsibility. They have a shortfall of $3,300. Pray the God meets this need according to His plans. Pray for continued safety and effectiveness for the other missionaries there. Pray that they will be able to stay in touch with these friends that they’ve made. Pray that Seth and Shana will be able to leave China well, rejoicing with thankfulness.
