Embrace

Information Pack We are thrilled to be able to be working with Lara Martin and the Embrace team to bring this exciting event to churches around the country, and look forward to working with you to host an inspiring and memorable evening for ladies in your community About Embrace Embrace is a brand new event for women of all ages bought to you by World Vision. Travelling around the country, it will bring women together for an inspiring and memorable evening. The evenings will primarily consist of praise and worship, with mission, prayer and the spoken word all beautifully woven in. It’s our hope that all those who attend will be refreshed, re-energised and feel able to meet with God in a heartfelt way. Embrace will be hosted by worship leader and speaker Lara Martin who is best known for her songs ‘The Voice of Hope’ ‘God is Here’ and ‘Divine Exchange’ which are sang in congregations all across the world. She has made regular appearances on Songs of Praise and continues to equip churches through her role in The Kingdom Worship Movement. At each event Lara will be joined on stage by three other worship leaders including top selling Christian artist Lou Fellingham, who features on countless Christian compilation albums and who is known widely for her stunning rendition of Stuart Townends ‘In Christ Alone’. Also joining Lara is Velveta Thompson of Beracah Music who has toured extensively with Graham Kendrick and along with her husband founded ‘Casx’, (Creative Arts School of Excellence) a training programme which provides opportunities for parents and their children to develop creatively. Another wonderful addition to the team is songwriter Donna Akodu who has penned anthems such as ‘Rain on me’ and ‘When Heaven Breaks In’. Donna has been leading worship for over 20 years and is the vocal director for The Kingdom Worship Movement here in the UK. During the evening, Lara will talk about the life-changing work of World Vision and show how World Vision works to bring real hope to millions of children in the world’s hardest places as a sign of God’s unconditional love. An opportunity will also be given to sponsor with us and bring real hope to a real child. Who can come? The event is for women of all ages!

Transport The event team will be travelling in a number of vehicles. Our events manager will liaise with you directly with regards to arrival time. The sound engineers will arrive early in the day (as agreed with you) and Lara and the rest of the team will arrive early afternoon. Please ensure there is room to unload the vehicle containing sound equipment and instruments close to the venue. Changing facilities Please provide male and female dressing rooms for our artists and musicians to use before and during the event. It would also be really helpful to have another area that the Event Staff can store their luggage securely. Please ensure that any windows are covered and that access to these rooms is strictly staff only. Access to hot drinks such as tea and coffee would also be appreciated. Advertising We ask that this event would be promoted as a major event at your Church. To support this, we will personalise and deliver professionally designed flyers, posters and invites to your church. Once the booking has been confirmed, your venue may be advertised on various websites and in a number of publications, however, do not rely on this advertising alone to draw your audience! Please use these promotional materials as a tool to advertise your event. Ideally we would have 300 ladies there on the night so please do ensure that you make the most of your contact lists, relationships with other local churches, community centres and of course friends & family. Accommodation World Vision will organise and pay for accommodation for the team where necessary. Ticket Price Tickets sold from your church office should be sold for £5 in advance and £7 on the night of the event. They will also be available online with an additional admin fee. All ticket proceeds are to be paid to World Vision. Volunteers Please provide 12 volunteers to help in various ways on the night. We are happy for male & female volunteers. This will also need to include a clear up team. We will need two people to arrive at 5:00pm to prepare gift bags. Embrace

We will need the remaining volunteers to arrive in time for a briefing at 6:00pm. IMPORTANT: There will be a variety of tasks for them to get involved with, such as preparing goodie bags, selling/collecting tickets on the door, helping with parking cars, showing people to their seats, and various other roles on the night Volunteers can each have a free ticket to the event but must be available throughout the night to assist where required. Health and Safety We will need a first aider on site for the event. This could be a member of the church staff or volunteer. Welcome We would love it for a female leader from the host church to do the initial “welcome” and introduce Lara and the team. At the end of the night, if the same person could close the event we would be most grateful. The Event The event will run from 7:30pm – 10pm, with doors opening at 7pm. If you are interested in hosting Embrace at your Church, please get in touch! Please provide details of the size of your church building and congregation, location and any thoughts around when you would be looking to host an event, eg next March, Autumn 2015 etc. Katherine Walker World Vision UK [email protected] 01908 841034
