Whanganui Music wanted I am calling for Whanganui musicians and bands to submit three tracks by emailing their MP3s to [email protected]. A soundtrack will be compiled for playback over the Council phone system to provide exposure for local musicians.

Talk by Angela Newell - Creative Projects Manager from Venture Southland March 11 at 1pm, Venue TBC. Angela Newell from Venture Southland will speak to Whanganui about her role with Venture Southland as a Creative Projects Manager. Angela has initiated projects such as ‘Shakespeare in the Park’, the ILT Kidzone Festival and The Southland Festival of the Arts and will be in Whanganui to tour her play Too far from Heaven on March 11th. Angela is also a trustee on boards including the ILT Board. She will be able to offer our community invaluable advice on sustaining the arts in a small community. You are welcome to bring your lunch. ADRIAN JACKMAN: MINIMAL WAVE To 2 Mar Auckland based painter Adrian Jackman was artist-in-residence at Tylee Cottage from March to May 2012. Abstract paintings inspired by a local palette of colours drawn from the natural and built environment in Wanganui.
