Everyday Evangelism: You Can Do This 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12 (Pew Bible p. 1181)

A window into a life-changing, eternity-altering encounter with people, 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12.

Two Irreducible Rails through the entire passage: 1. MESSAGE Christ died for your sins and arose, 1 Corinthians 15:1-5

2. MANNER People will care about what you know, when they know that you really care.

You can do everyday evangelism as you prioritize the Bible’s message and manner. Application Assignment: Personalize one gospel conversation question. Next week – Philippians 2:12-13

Small Group Follow Through Guide

Everyday Evangelism: You Can Do This 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12 SUGGESTED DISCUSSION POINTS FROM FEBRUARY 11, 2018 SERMON

1. Discuss as a group: a) What are reasons we don’t evangelize more? b) What are some ways evangelism has changed? c) What are some of the most effective methods you’ve seen? 2. Read 2 Corinthians 5:20. Unpack the phrase “ambassadors for Christ.” How is this a helpful way to view yourself? 3. Read 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12. What stands out to you now? 4. Since The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing, how would you verbalize the main thing of this sermon? 5. Bible truth is both for living and for sharing. Living: How will your life be different as a result of this? Sharing: How/with whom can you share this? 6. What else have you learned over the years about being more effective in sharing Jesus with others? 7. How can these Bible verses be a “one verse evangelism” tool? Romans 6:23; John 3:16; 1 Timothy 2:5; 1 John 5:12. Others? 8. What remaining questions, comments or insights do you have to share with your group? 9. Spend the closing minutes praying about this for yourself, for someone else, and for the VBC Congregation.
