This Sunday our middle school mission team travels to Raleigh, NC to serve our God's children with a week of service through YouthWorks. Please pray for our team of 31 who will encounter our living God! Also, don't forget to come out tonight to see one of my all time favorite movies, TOP GUN at the Lumina. Summer Volunteer Opportunity for CUMC Youth Middle and High School!! This summer we have the opportunity to serve needy children in Chatham County through the SNACK (Summer Nutrition Assistance for Chatham Kids) program! This is a simple but meaningful way to get our youth involved in hands on mission for our local community, requiring only around an hour of time. SNACK is a food distribution program in which SNACK coordinators will drop off boxes of food at different locations and then families will come to pick up the boxes. We will be helping to unload the boxes on Monday afternoons from 3:30 –4 and also distribute the boxes from 3:30 –5 on Wednesdays for ten weeks this summer. Please follow the link to Sign Up Genius to participate in the mission.....If you want to be a parent child team, that is great..., or 2 youth can participate......Just be at Chatham Community Church offices, located in Cole Park Plaza next to Torero’s restaurant around 3:20 -ready to go! We only have around 25 boxes/families, so only 2 youth will be needed for each day. Middle schoolers are welcome to participate as the boxes aren't too heavy to lift. Want to help out with Vacation Bible School? CUMC needs your help with the many children coming to hear the message of God! VBS is July 15-19th and we needs lots of people to help make it happen! Click on the picture to the right -----> to register as a helper today!
Top Gun
The Lumina Outdoor Movies Like 80s movies? Like dressing in 80s gear? Then you will love Top Gun. One of my favorite movies of all time! Come out tonight for the Southern Village Outdoor movies. They start right before 9 pm. Come and buy your own ticket...familes welcome and don't forget a chair...the ground is still very wet! See you there. I will wait around till everyone is picked up..but be there right after the movie ends at around 10:40!
Paint by Numbers!
Make the youth room look pretty for a new year! Slowly we have been adding beauty to the youth room! Come help us add some color by planning some murals with us! You will not want to miss this awesome opportunity! Bring a friend or a family member! Wear paint friendly clothes...although this day may only be planning...so not a necessity!
Bull Durham
Come see a Durham Bulls Game! I love the Durham Bulls! Come bring a friend or the whole family to see the Durham Bulls play on the 18th. I will help get group tickets for us...so please RSVP to me as soon as you can. We will meet up at the Stadium in Durham. Don't miss America's great summer past time!
