Navitas is seeking to employ an experienced Finance Manager to join our University Programs Division in Boston, MA. The Finance Manager, in conjunction with the Director of Finance North America is responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of the Financial Statements and Student Financial Information for the UPD Business units. The Finance Manager UPD is also responsible for assisting and training of the finance team in the shared services office lead by the Director of Finance North America. Key Responsibilities  Prepare monthly financial statements including Monthly and Quarterly reporting, variance analysis and explanations  Manage/ Supervise the General Ledger including preparation of journal entries and monthly reconciliations  Prepare end of year accounts and schedules as required by the Director of Finance North America  Prepare quarterly forecasts using Oracle Hyperion Planning  Maintain and manage Oracle E-Business Suite, and Blackline  Maintain and ensure compliance with Group and US policy and controls  Supervise Finance Officer(s) responsible for assigned Business Unit(s)  Oversee student information system (Maze) and student financial transactions  Oversee process of Scholarship documentation, invoicing, and reporting  Assist with student liaison re account queries at the Business Unit(s)  Monitor and control outstanding student tuition fees and closely monitor debt collection  Oversee the accounts payable and commission payable process.  Enjoy being hands on with all financial matters  Manage payroll for all states.  Other duties as required Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience • Legal right to work in USA or ability to obtain a US work visa (TN) under NAFTA • Degree in Accounting and CPA designation, with a minimum of 5 years financial management experience • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of professional accounting principles and practices (US GAAP) and the ability to apply the knowledge • Experience with external financial reporting • Knowledge and experience with corporate financial, accounting and administrative information systems • Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise staff, with a proven ability to motivate and develop a team to achieve positive client service in the context of competing deadlines • High level of analytical skills with demonstrated ability to synthesize financial and non-financial information in order to develop activity-based costing tools and methodologies • Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, presentation and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with, and within, a team • Customer-focused with an understanding that all staff and students are your customers • Demonstrated capacity to identify and implement internal controls and process improvements • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop staff
