Tourism Coordinator CEO

The Menomonie Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC) is a non-profit membership organization that focuses on strengthening member business and stimulating regional prosperity. The MACC is currently seeking an independent, self-motived person to serve in a sales and event position within the organization. The primary function of the position is to develop, support, and promote tourism in the Menomonie area. As an employee of the MACC, this position will work directly with the MACC team to promote the mission of the organization. The following statements are intended to describe the general nature of the position and level of work to be performed. Please note that these statements are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all required duties, skills, and responsibilities of the position. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Key Responsibilities:  Promote the area’s lodging, dining, shopping, recreation, events, and attractions to visitors  Development, implement and manage the MACC tourism communications with the public, media, industry professionals, civic and community  Provide professional assistance and support in the planning, design, and management of tourism focused projects and initiatives that are likely to lead to overnight stays  Collaborate with team to implement tourism marketing plan  Work cooperatively to foster strong business and community partnerships  Manage tourism funds  Maintain social media platforms, including www.exploremenomonie.com  Represent the MACC at various community events and meetings and serve on committees as assigned by CEO  Provide both a verbal and written progress updates and reports on the coordination of events, activities and work accomplishments Office Operations:  Schedule, train and direct the activities of the Welcome Center employees and volunteers  Schedule, train and direct the activities of the Depot employees and volunteers  Order and distribute tourism materials (This includes Menomonie Welcome Centers, statewide WI Travel Information Centers, Depot, MACC and Visitors Center)  Write and apply for grants to help in the promotion and development of tourism  Perform other duties assigned by the CEO and the MACC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  Associate’s degree preferred. Graduation from an accredited educational institution with Associate’s Degree in Marketing, Tourism, or related field and at least 2 years of progressive marketing or tourism experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.  Time management and organizational skills, including establishing priorities and meeting deadlines

       

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Ability to format, evaluate, and edit content and structure of a variety of written materials in a timely and professional manner Experience in project and financial management Professional demeanor with a positive attitude Knowledge of and the ability to follow the organization’s by-laws and rules Skill in the use of a personal computer and general software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to create and edit letters, memos, spreadsheets, presentations and emails Experience in administering a website and providing timely and accurate updates Driver’s License and reliable transportation
