Girl Scout Gold Award Project: Madelynn Zeller, a Girl Scout and a member of Gary’s Scout Venture Crew, is collecting flip flops of all sizes for Healing Hands Missions in Guatemala. Children’s and Youth Ministries Serve Sunday: Today from 3–4 p.m. at Brighton Gardens (831 Butterfield Rd, Wheaton). Middle and high school students, start off your summer with a fun and rewarding activity. Come play bingo with the seniors at Brighton Gardens! Step-up Sunday: June 10 at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Children and students of all ages will “step-up” a grade level for Christian Education in summer and fall. Polar Blast Mini-VBS Sunday School: June 10, 17, and 24 at 10 a.m. in the Lower Level. Do you love VBS and want it to last longer? So do we! That’s why we are offering Mini-VBS for all children ages Preschool 3–Grade 5. All are welcome! Gary Youth Step-up Sunday and Summer Kick-off Party: June 10 from 11 a.m.– 1 p.m. in the Activity Center. We’ll kick off our summer by welcoming incoming sixth graders and celebrating our graduating seniors. Join us for games and lunch! Shipwrecked VBS Family Pizza and Decorating Party: June 13 from 6–8:30 p.m. After pizza, all will pick their favorite island Creation Station and join the fun in preparing for VBS on June 18–22. Pick up one in the Church Office for $15. CIY Mix Camp for Middle School students: July 30–Aug. 2. We’ll be joining Christ in Youth for worship, small groups, and games in southern IL. Opportunities at Gary Church Jesus Song: June 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Jim Cohick will present these works based on scriptures about and containing the words of Jesus. He offers this piano and vocal presentation as a gift of appreciation to Gary Church and others within God’s family during the Cohick’s time in Wheaton. A reception will follow in the Commons. Shipwrecked Vacation Bible School / Holiday BLAST Camp: June 18–22 Volunteer Meeting: June 10 at 4 p.m. in the Activity Center. All VBS and BLAST volunteers are encouraged to attend to receive materials for their roles, meet their ministry teams—and enjoy a dessert bar. Volunteer for VBS and BLAST Camp, June 18–22: Be part of this ministry that shares the love of Christ to about 270 area children by serving as a leader or assistant leader. Register at garychurch.org. Shipwrecked VBS Treehouse Build: June 11, 6:30–8:30 p.m. We will be building an island treehouse in the Sanctuary and need strong hands to assemble the scaffolding. Contact the Church Office to volunteer. KIMMER’S KARES: June 18 from 6–10 p.m. at Kimmer’s (109 E. Front St., Wheaton). There will be two unique flavors created and named for VBS and BLAST Camp. A portion of the profits will be donated to the VBS and BLAST missions. BLAST Camp Car Wash: June 20 from 9:45–11:30 a.m. at Wheaton Bowl. Come get your car washed by our energetic BLAST Campers. They’ll be ready with buckets and hoses, and all donations will be go to People’s Resource Center. The Grief Support Group will meet informally for coffee on June 27, July 25, and Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. in the Commons. All are welcome.
