The General Ledger Accountant will add value to a high energy environment with extremely motivated people and take particular responsibility for ensuring that appropriate financial policies and procedures are emplaced and that compliance requirements are fulfilled. As well as being a highly motivated, team-orientated person, capable of adding value to the Shared Service networks finance function, the General Ledger Accountant will need to be a high energy, self-starter who is able to use their initiative and be an active and productive member of a cross functional team. About the role Essential Skills and Experience Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of professional accounting principles and practices Newly qualified or final year studier (ACA/ACCA) Experience with corporate financial, accounting and administrative information system Fluency in some European languages (preferred French/German) Analytical skills Ability to work effectively with, and within, a team Capacity to understand and implement internal controls and process improvement Demonstrated computer literacy Effective interpersonal skills with a variety of cultural and ethnic stakeholder groups Computer literacy skills inclusive of demonstrated competence with the Microsoft Office suite Experience in the use of accounting specific software (Oracle, SAP, Sage, etc.) Proactive work habits The ability to work on own initiative, prioritise work, handle pressure of meeting monthly deadlines The ability to monitor and maintain management information systems and procedures The ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the telephone with individuals and with a wide variety of organisations and audiences Knowledge and understanding of the principles of Equal Opportunity Employment and Occupational Safety and Health principles and practices What we offer An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
